Gio slams his hand down on his desk, the noise cracking through the room. "This is the reason so many have problems with you being my second!" he yells at his brother, pointing a finger. "You’re irresponsible and you're nothing but a kid in a grown man's body who can't control his temper! Fucking Christ, I don't even know how to cover this one up!"
Maximo rolls his eyes, not in the least bit intimidated by Gio's yelling. "Vito will clean it up," he says, jerking a finger at me. "That’s what his job is after all. Speaking of jobs... What are we doing with our newest guest?" he asks, drifting closer to Gio's desk.
I’m almost impressed by how deftly he switched topics, ignoring the fact that he burned down a club that belongs to one of our few allies.
Gio aims a death glare at Maximo, allowing himself to be distracted, his jaw tight. "You are not doing anything with her," he tells him.
Maximo waves a hand, indicating that he has no interest in the words that just left his brother’s lips. "Yes, whatever, but what are you doing with her, brother dearest?"
I glance between them for a moment, yet I can't help but to lean in closer to Gio’s desk. Like Maximo, I’m eager to find out what Gio's response is going to be, curious about the beautiful woman myself.
Even in the few brief moments in which I got to stare at the plump lipped, dark skinned woman, I couldn't help but to be mesmerized by her. She'd looked like a deer caught in the headlights as Maximo pressed her into the mattress. She hadn’t chanced a look at me, but it felt like she was screaming, pleading with me to help her. And something about the silence had made me want to do just that, help, help when I've never done anything but destroy.
So what is Gio going to do with her now?
Gio aims a closed off look at his brother, his face giving not a thing away. “I'm going to use her for something that does not pertain to you at the moment. She is mine for a year and you will not touch her unless you’re given permission by me."
Maximo's face scrunches up, his lips turning down. “I'm not sure that I like that idea."
Gio stands, rounding his desk until he’s standing toe to toe with his brother. “I don’t care if you don’t like it. She is mine and you will not have a single interaction with her unless I allow it.”
