He sighed. “I shouldn’t, but I do. Do you want to take a bath?”
“Not yet. I want to hold you like this for a while. I thought you’d betrayed me, and that hurt so much. You can never betray me, Daddy.”
He raised his head and grinned. “No, shit. I have the scars to prove it.”
“Do you want me to say I’m sorry?”
“Will you mean it?”
I gave it some serious thought, then shook my head. “It doesn’t matter why you did it. You allowed him to kiss you.”
“Can I be honest with you?”
“Okay.”
“I might have allowed him to kiss me because I hoped it would be as earth-shattering as when we kissed. Then I could convince myself you were nothing special.”
“But I am, aren’t I?”
“You don’t have to sound so smug about it. We’re in dangerous, uncharted territory here. I’ve never…been this wild about someone before. I’m not altogether sure it’s healthy.”
I tightened my legs around him. “I don’t care if it’s not healthy as long as I am with you.”
