Daddy's Adorable Assassin (Daddy's Little Deviants) - Page 110

After lunch, we went back to the store and picked up groceries, then returned to the cabin. Hunter kept glancing in his rearview mirror as though he expected us to be followed, but the closer we got to the cabin, the more he relaxed. I hated seeing him so tense and worried about me. If only we could stay here forever, where it was peaceful. The world would not intrude on our love.

“Daddy, do you want help?” I nodded to the bags in the back seat.

“It’s okay. I’ve got it. You said you wanted to play when we got back. Go get dressed.”

“Do you want me as a doll or a baby?”

“Maybe both?”

“A baby doll. I like it!”

I raced up the steps and to our bedroom. We’d made it ours two nights ago when I’d fucked myself on his cock while his blood stained the sheets. It’d been the most intense scene between us, and if I had had any doubts that he might not truly love me, they were all gone after that.

I quickly dressed in a pink tutu skirt with tulle fabric over a onesie and pulled on my thigh-high socks. I brushed out my hair and snapped the pink bow headband in place. Doing my makeup took a little longer, even though I did the bare minimum Mother would have allowed for our playdates. Blush because my cheeks were way too pale, pink lipstick, and eyeshadow.

Hunter popped his head around the door as I was blotting the excess lipstick off.

“Adorable.”

I smiled at him, squashing the urge to run into his arms. It didn’t matter because he came up to me and lifted me.

“Are you ready to go downstairs now, doll?”

I nodded. “This is going to be so much fun.”

“Yes, but we need to talk about something first. Something that’s weighed heavily on my mind. I’ve been thinking and trying to wait until the right time, but I may never be certain when that will be, so I’m just going to tell you now.”

“Okay, Daddy.”

Hunter carried me out of the bedroom and into the living room. He set me on his lap and took my hands.

“Cosmo?”

I smoothed the frown from his forehead. “Why are you so serious?”

“Because what I’m about to tell you is serious.”

“Okay. Maybe it should wait until after playtime, then.”

“Or maybe playtime is what you’ll need after to help you work through everything you might feel. That’s why I’m choosing to tell you now before we play.”

I pulled my hands out of his, and he didn’t stop me. Instead, he reached for a file on the couch beside us and placed it in my lap.

“What’s this?”

“I probably should have told you before, but I didn’t want to get your hopes up if we came to a dead end, so I did some digging first.”

“And?”

“And I think I’ve found your family.”

The breath flew out of my lungs. “My family?”

“Yes. I had someone who works in our missing persons department look into your origins, and we were able to narrow things down. I’m sorry we couldn’t find anything on your father, since he was never married to your mother.”

“My mother?” I’d deliberately not looked up anything to do with my mother since learning she was dead—killed by Virgil. He’d admitted it to me about a year ago, which was when my vendetta against my father had begun.

“Yes, I’m sorry that you’ll never know her, but she died eighteen years ago.”
