Daddy's Adorable Assassin (Daddy's Little Deviants) - Page 134

“Okay.”

“Are you hungry?” Hunter asked, ignoring Knight. “I can make you something to eat.”

I shook my head. “I doubt I can eat until we get this over with.”

“Okay. Go on up and get dressed. We should be done here when you get back.”

“Okay, Daddy.”

They resumed their talking before I was out of the kitchen.

“Would you swear that you’re not withholding any information about Cosmo that could change the direction of our cases?”

“I’ve told you everything I know,” Hunter replied.

I loved him so much.

Once upstairs, I threw on a pair of hot pink shorts and a white tube top. I brushed out my hair and sniffed my armpits, pulling a face. All that sexing had left me sweaty, and I could do with a shower, but I liked that a bit of Hunter lingered on my skin. Would it drive Knight crazy knowing I was getting all the dick he fantasized about?

That was all I needed to decide. I returned downstairs. Hunter had whipped me up a quick breakfast, despite me telling him I wouldn’t be able to eat.

“Eat.” He patted the chair where he’d been sitting and, when I sat, kissed my hair. “I’ll be in the garage if you need me. Don’t be an asshole, Knight,” he said on his way out.

I smiled around the spoonful of cereal I shoved into my mouth.

“Well, look at that smug smile,” Knight said. “I’d say someone is feeling very adult today.”

I shrugged. “It comes and goes.”

“How convenient.”

“Daddy said not to be an asshole.” I pouted.

“And little Cosmo is back.” Knight rubbed at his temples. “Look, I don’t want to do this either, but it’s protocol, just like Hunter said. Usually it would take a long time to handle things like this, but since it happened under my watch, I assured my superiors I would take care of it. I’d appreciate it if you answered the questions honestly or as honestly as you can.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Doesn’t matter. Just answer the questions. Did you know Detective Hunter before you met him at the facility when we arrested you?”

“Everyone knows Detective Hunter. He’s always in the papers.”

“I meant personally. Did you know him personally?”

I swallowed another mouthful of cereal. “Nope.”

He continued asking me question after question about connections I might have had with Hunter orpeople related to Hunter. Then he delved into when my relationship with Hunter started. I hesitated at that question.

“Do you mean when we first fucked?” I asked. “I’m not sure how to classify when a relationship first began. Neither of us intended it to be a relationship when we first had sex.”

“Please use the date when you first had an improper physical relation, whether it be a kiss or sex.”

The questions got more and more tedious, and when he announced he was finished, I couldn’t help my sigh.

“Why do you hate me?” I asked. “Other than the fact that Hunter wanted to be with me and not you.”

“I don’t hate you. I’m indifferent to you.”

“But you want Hunter.”
