“Of course. Thank you again, Drea.”
“No problem at all. It was nice meeting you as well.” We made our way to the lobby.
Everyone shared farewells and my eyes couldn’t help but take notice of the attractiveness of these individuals. Never had the pleasure of being surrounded by people who were beautiful on the outside as they were on the inside. Taking one last glance towards Drea, I noticed a woman who stood near Quincey. Her Amazon features captivated me. She must’ve felt my stare. She turned around and waved.
“That’s Milan. Quiet but feisty.” Drea snuck up beside me. “I would introduce you to Hendrix, but he doesn’t do well with strangers.”
“That’s okay. Talk to you soon.” We hugged one last time before I got in the waiting vehicle. I took one last glance behind me to find the eyes of Quincey on me. He mouthed remember what I said and disappeared into his truck.
“Please take me with you the next you come to Miami. This trip was…everything.” Jalonie dreamily gazed out the window as our driver merged into traffic. Her reasoning to come back had to do with JD. I, on the other hand, wanted to come back to be refilled. Between Drea and Quincey, I don’t know who mixed my emotions more.
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. If ever you forget what you’re worth, place a hand over your heart. When you feel the beating of your heart, remember that his sacrifice was because he thought you were worthy.
I repeated Quincey’s words until sleep came over me.
