The Bodyguard Affair - Page 29

Sam opened her mouth to defend herself. But at that moment, the elevator doors opened.

She stifled a curse. The only people with access to the private parking garage were the Black family and Sam’s security team. And before Sam could decide which would be worse, two women stepped out of the elevator.

“… You know I have to be up early.” Parker, with her arm slung around a curvy woman with light brown hair, ambled into the parking garage with heels that echoed around them. “I need my beauty sleep.”

Instantaneously, Bianca shrank against the car. Sam blocked her from view, going as far as to pull out her phone so she appeared to be preoccupied with an important task, and not the young woman hiding beside her, curls hanging in shame.

A car door opened at the other side of the garage. “I’m exhausted too. But the shelter wouldn’t call me if it wasn’t an emergency. And my car is in the shop.” Julia’s voice became more muffled as she shut the car door. “This wouldn’t be a problem if you let me drive your car. Or take an Uber.”

“I’d be damned either way.” The driver-side door on the sports car opened. Parker’s head disappeared inside. Two seconds later, the engine roared to life.

Sam kept stark still as Parker drove by, heading toward the opening garage door. It was another minute before the underground lot was quiet again.

She stepped away from her car, glancing in Bianca’s direction. “We should…”

Bianca stared back at her expectantly. Sam’s stomach churned. This was all wrong.

“It’s… getting late,” she finally said. “You should go back to your apartment.”

Bianca’s face fell. “But—”

“And stop sneaking out.” Sam rubbed the back of her neck. She swore she still felt Bianca’s hand there. “Please.”

Bianca turned away. “Yeah. Okay.”

While Sam remained standing beside her car, Bianca made her way to the elevator, her skirt swishing around those damned thighs that had been wrapped around Sam’s waist only minutes ago.

Once Bianca was gone, Sam let out a heavy sigh that echoed through the parking garage. I’m in big fucking trouble. How she would move on from this, she had no idea.

Because even if Bianca never said a word about what had just taken place, the sights and sounds of her whole body reeling in orgasm would forever haunt Sam’s mind.

So much for not getting involved.
