Cora laughed. “Sweetie, are you trying to make me jealous?”
“Kind of. I love it when women are all over me, and you come doing your tiger routine, growling to get them away. You fuck my dick really well after that.” He could see in his mind as she rolled her eyes.
“Suzy is a sweet woman. She’d never screw another woman’s man. You’ve got more chance of getting a handjob from a monkey than getting anything from her. Besides, save yourself for me, and I can promise you, you’ll love it.”
His dick was already getting hard. James would never stray, and neither would Cora. They weren’t married, but they didn’t need a slip of paper to remind them of their commitment. He loved her more than anything in the world. He refused to live without her.
“I’ve got to go. We’ll chat when I get back.”
“I’ll be waiting for you, baby.”
They hung up, and he made his way inside, up the stairs toward Suzy’s apartment. Chloe, one of the women who used to be a club whore, lived with her. He stood outside Suzy’s door, and wondered why the hell he was doing this. His brother was known for being difficult. James couldn’t deny that he’d noticed a change in his brother over the past few months.
Everyone had been changing. Leo and Paul had finally moved on from their heartbreak over Stacey.
Knocking the door, he waited. Something was going on with Pixie, and he intended to find out.
“James, what are you doing here?” Suzy asked once she opened the door.
“I’ve got a proposition for you. Can I come in?”
“Of course, of course.” She stepped away from the door, and allowed him to enter. “Are you sure you’re looking for me?”
“Yeah, you’re the only one that can help me.”
He watched as she frowned before closing the door.
“How is Cora?” Suzy asked.
“She’s good. Everyone is good. So, you’ve got no job and I’m here to offer you one.”
“Just like that? Wait, how do you even know?”
“Pixie.”
“Oh.”
He watched as her cheeks heated, and she started to move from side to side.
“Is everything okay?”
“Everything is fine.” She moved toward the kitchen, and he followed her, taking a seat at the table. “What job could possibly be available? I’ve looked all over the town.” She passed him over the paper. “And there’s not a lot in there. I’m thinking I’m going to have to start looking for some other place to live. I’m not looking forward to telling Chloe.”
James stared at her for several seconds. He didn’t know exactly what was going on, but something was between this woman and Pixie. “You won’t have to. You used management and accounting skills at your last job right?”
“Yeah. I took a class in college.”
“Excellent. If you agree, I’ll match whatever that fashion shop was paying, and increase it by five thousand. That way you won’t have to move anywhere.”
“Wow, seriously?”
“The catch is you’ll be working in my
office within the club. Anything and everything you see there is strictly confidential. You can’t tell anyone.”
“I won’t. I promise.” Her hands were pressed together, and she looked ready to squeal in excitement.
“I have one condition.”
