Chapter Eleven
Inthetruckonthe way to Isaac’s, I peppered him with questions I’d been too nervous to ask in front of both him and Blake together. “So, you want to share me?”
Isaac grunted. “I don’t know if share is the right word.”
“So, he’ll take me on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and you get the rest of the week?”
“Not exactly.”
“Is there a schedule?”
“No, Mallory. There’s no schedule.”
“Is this dating? This feels a lot like dating.”
“This is dating.”
“I don’t date.”
He sighed. “We’re dating.”
“You can’t just decide that.”
“Hey, Mallory?” He waited until I answered him. “Do you want to come over to my house tonight and hang out? We could watch a movie or play a board game.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Okay?”
“That’s dating. We’re dating.”
“And I’m dating Blake, too?”
“If you want to be. And I get the feeling you want to be.”
I winced. “What is wrong with me?”
“Nothing. You’re fucking perfect.”
“I think I might be a sexual deviant.” I groaned. “I can’t sleep with all three of a set of triplets. That’s got to be some kind of thing. Like an illegal thing. What is wrong with me, Isaac? Am I a slut? I am. I’m a slut.”
“You’re not a slut. Jesus, woman, just take it easy for a second.” Isaac turned onto the road leading to the ranch and shook his head. “You’re not a slut. Do you understand me?”
I sighed. “You’re awfully bossy for a man I barely know.”
“We’ll change part of that.”
“I’m assuming not the bossy part.”
He parked in front of the house and came around to open my door for me. Instead of helping me out, he captured my mouth in a kiss that sent desire coursing through my body. “If you ever feel uncomfortable at all, tell me. Tell us.”
I pulled his hair out of the low bun he had it tied back in and stroked it. It was silky under my fingers. “Is tonight your night?”
He picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist to carry me inside. “Our night.”
I wiggled against him. “I’m too heavy for you to carry, Isaac. Put me down.”
“You’re not too heavy. You’re just right.”
“I’m—” I stopped and looked down at him. “Our night?”
