My eyes widened. Could he?
He laughed and tugged my hair playfully.
“I’m not going to go into detail on why I kept her around. Don’t want to pollute your pretty little head with all the ugly things I get caught up in. Nikolay would surely have my balls, and I have a feeling Damien and Mikhail would help.”
He shot me a curious look.
I bit my lip, not knowing how to respond to that.
I knew he knew about me being in a relationship with all three of them.
Though I wasn’t sure what we were doing was really considered a relationship.
He looked away from me and out the window. “Did you know Damien is my oldest friend? There’s no one in this world I trust more than him, and that says something because I don’t trust a lot of people. And this means I trust Nikolay and Mikhail … to an extent. You are important to them. Which means you’re important to me. There is nothing to it for me to kick out one insignificant woman. Don’t you agree?”
I grabbed my glass of Scotch and took a small sip of it. I grimaced, but it was better than when I first tried it.
Was I important to them?
I shook my head.
I had never been important to anyone before.
At least, not in this way.
I was important to my father as long as I still had my virginity intact. But important in the way Gabriel meant?
I didn’t know what to do with this information. And a part of me still wasn’t convinced that I could actually be important to them—or at least, important in a way that they had become to me.
When it came down to it, I would always need them more than they needed me.
Before I could think to write anything else, I saw something from the corner of my eye, drawing my attention.
A disheveled, frowning Nikolay stood there. His brown hair was mussed from sleep, and I would never tell him, but I thought he looked incredibly sexy right now. Especially since he was only wearing boxer briefs.
“Princess, what are you doing up?”
“She can’t sleep, so she went looking for better company,” Gabriel answered, smirking.
I held my breath as Nikolay walked into the room, but he only flipped Gabriel off before picking me up in his arms.
He kissed me right then and there, his tongue moving seamlessly between my lips before I could think to close my mouth.
I couldn’t help the small moan that came out of my mouth, my arms moving over to wrap around his neck as he deepened the kiss.
Nikolay kissed the same way he did everything else.
Passionately and explosively.
When he pulled away, I was breathing heavily, and I wanted more. The sound of glass being placed on the table drew my attention back to Gabriel. I blushed and buried my face in Nikolay’s chest.
He kissed me in front of Gabriel on purpose.
“Fucker,” Nikolay said to Gabriel and walked out of the kitchen.
Gabriel’s laughter followed us.
“You didn’t have to do that,” I grumbled.
