My grip tightened around Mikhail’s arm.

We couldn’t just leave Damien, but Nikolay’s kids. They were still just children. How could we not go to the strip club and see for ourselves if they were there?

I knew both men were thinking the same thing I was, but no one wanted to say anything.

Tears flowed down my face, and it didn’t seem like they would stop.

I needed them all, and now that Damien was taken from me, it felt like there was a huge hole in my heart that I didn’t know what to do with.

Mikhail’s phone rang, disrupting the silence we’d found in our misery. He answered the call, putting it on speaker.

“Tell me you got Damien.”

There was a silence that seemed to stretch on for two eternities when it was really only half a second of hesitation from the other man on the line.

Then Kirill’s voice spoke, making my heart stop and my world lose its balance.

“They have him. The fucking Blood Nation Sinner have him. They’ve been working with Leo all along.”

I didn’t know who or what that was but judging by Nikolay’s and Mikhail’s eyes, it wasn’t good.

My legs gave out, but Nikolay caught me in time. Kirill said something else through the line, but I didn’t hear anymore.
