“She’s my wife now.” His words echo in my head as he pulls me close and gently touches his lips to mine. The kiss is soft and sweet as he tucks my hair behind my ear and then looks at me with those clear blue eyes. “Ready to go home?”
“Home.” I test the word out, and as much as this has been a whirlwind, Beckett was right. I feel a pull toward him I’ve never experienced before. Not with anyone or anywhere have I experienced something so powerful.
One look, and he knew I belonged to him, but I felt the same in that club. Even before we locked eyes, I couldn’t get him out of my mind. We were destined to end up like this, and I was meant to belong to this man.
“Yeah, let’s go home,” I say and then laugh because this is ridiculous. “I can’t wait to see where my husband lives.”
He laughs too as he pulls me up in his arms and spins me around again. I feel dizzy but not from the movement, just from being near him. That’s what Beckett does to me. He turned my world upside down, and although I’ve never felt wilder, I’ve also never felt safer.
“I’m going to have people move your stuff out of the dorms tonight. There’s no need for you to go back.”
“I’ve still got classes,” I say, and he shrugs like it’s not a big deal.
“I live close, we’ll make it work.”
“We’ll make it work.” I repeat his words, and he nods without a trace of doubt.
“Forever.”
