Shep’s lips twitched into a smile. “When it comes to you it’s thorough” —kiss—“creative” —kiss—“and a little dirty.”
My eyes widened at his playfulness. “Really?”
“Mmm hmm, but if I lay you down in the sand and show you what kinds of things I’m talking about, we’re gonna get arrested real fast.”
This man. This thoughtful, caring, overprotective, pig-headed, hot-as-sin man. It might surprise him, but I had a few things dreamed up for him as well.
I flashed him my most wicked grin. “Then we’d better hurry back before we get into any more trouble.”
He twined his long fingers through mine and pressed a kiss to the back of my hand.
Not a single shadow lurked behind the bright smile Shep aimed at me. I longed to see more of them, and I was sure that I would.
