Chapter 33

Bishop

Carrying my son out for the members of Heaven Hill to meet him is one of the proudest moments of my life. There are still remnants of tears below my eyes and I can’t be bothered to wipe them away. This is one of those moments I don’t mind showing my emotions.

The doors open and there they all are, standing and waiting.

“Hey.”I smile up at them over his head.

“How’s Harley?”Justice asks immediately.

“She’s good. They’re sewing her up and then she’ll be okay for visitors. She told me to tell you not to leave, she wants to see you.”

Immediately, her shoulders relax. It must’ve been hard for her to be out here knowing her twin was going through everything inside those doors.

“I’d like you all to meet Erick Walker.”

There’s a murmur of confusion as everyone questions his last name.Drew puts his hand on my shoulder.“Bishop came to me a little while ago and asked if he could take my last name.He and Harley plan on getting married at some point in their lives.”

“Right,” I continue.“And I feel no closeness to Erickson, but I want my son to have a part of me.I want him to be able to show me that not everything having to deal with who I was is bad. That’s why we named him Erick and why he has the last name Walker.”

There’re rumbles of approval.“Give me the kid,” Liam grumbles from where he stands in the group.

Immediately, my gaze goes over to where Drew stands.I feel like he deserves to hold our son first, but Liam is the patriarch of the family.Drew nods his approval.Carefully, I lay my son in Liam’s arms.

“Oh, he’s a fine one,” he announces as he measures the weight of the baby in his arms.“He’s strong and he’s going to be a great addition to the Walker line.”He looks up at me.“You did good, Dad.”

The label makes my heart flutter.Knowing that the baby in his arms is going to look up to me for the rest of his life clogs my throat with emotion.“Thank you.”I manage to push the words out.“It’s really Harley, though. She did all the hard work.I’ve never seen someone be more fierce. She was like a warrior going into battle.”

“The most amazing thing you can see is the love of your life giving birth to the next love of your life,” Drew answers, reaching out to accept the baby Liam is offering him.“How am I supposed to hold him?Is it any different than my own kids?”He laughs.

“No,” Liam answers.“Just love him the way you have everyone else.”

“That’s not hard.”Drew looks down at him, amazement shining in his eyes.“From the first moment Harley told me she was expecting him, I loved him.Just like I love all of you.”

Harley

“Hey.”I smile as my family comes into the room, Bishop holding our son.“I’m so happy to see all of you.”

Justice immediately comes in for a hug.“Are you okay?I’ve been going crazy out there thinking about you.”

“I’m good,” I admit.“Tired, but good.”

Mom comes over, pushing my hair off my forehead.“Bishop said you tore?”

“Very little.Just needed three stitches.I’m okay,” I reassure her.“Have you held him?”

“Not yet, it’s been hard to get in there with all these alpha men around.”She smiles.“I’ll get my turn, though.I’m just glad you’re good.”

“Yeah,” Justice agrees with her.“We were worried.”

“I know you two wanted to be back here with me, but…” I shrug.

“It was your decision to make and you had to do what was best for you,” Dad says as he reaches in to kiss my cheek.“Your first decision as a parent.”

Bishop walks over to my mom, gently handing our son over to her.As I watch her get a good look at his face and see tears pop into her eyes, I start to cry.“If I’m this damn emotional about other people holding him, can you imagine how I’m going to be when you get him?”I glance over at Justice.

Around the room, everyone holds him until it comes time for my twin. She has a seat next to me, dragging her bottom lip in between her teeth.Holding her arms up, Mom puts him in the cradle she’s made.
