I lean on the kitchen counter, watching as Becca puts the tray in the oven. It’s a simple thing, cooking up some southern fried chicken, and yet it makes me feel like I’m living a preview of the future we’re going to share.
She wears one of my oversized T-shirts, her nipples poking through the fabric, her bare legs sticking out the bottom.
My manhood stirs, but my heart stirs even more when her mouth spreads into a smile, her hands on her phone, setting the timer.
“What?” she says, placing her phone down.
I look into her eyes, study her crimson cheeks, and the vivacity of her expression. Of every part of her.
“I’m just thinking about how beautiful you are,” I say.
She tilts her head with a note of sassiness. Just a note behind the chorus of nerves that still take hold of her every moment.
“Are you trying to get more…fun, huh?”
I chuckle at the phrasing. “Fun? It’s more than fun, Becca. You’re an obsession. You really are addicting.”
I warn myself to stop, something I’ve had to do several times since coming here. When I was between her legs, I almost told her that her pussy belonged to me…but I wouldn’t be able to stop there. Every single part of her is mine.
“But I am hungry,” I say, reading her expression.
My horny virgin is wearing a particular face. It’s a we can do more sexual stuff if you want, but I’m a little tired face.
I calm the predator down, the one that never stops howling from inside of me, reminding it that my woman is about a lot more than sex.
“Although,” I can’t help but add, “that outfit isn’t helping.”
She giggles adorably. “Outfit? That seems like a pretty big word for a T-shirt. You could’ve warned me you were going to take me away, Mr. Kidnapper. I would’ve packed.”
I laugh at the banter in her voice.
“The truth is, I didn’t plan it,” I say.
She sits opposite me, her hand resting on the counter. I reach over and wrap my hand around hers, clinging to her warmth, feeling the tension in her touch.
“On coming here?” she asks.
I shake my head. “I keep the place stocked with non-perishable food but the housekeeper likes to bring by other things as well. I always mean to come here…but I never do. When we met, I didn’t know what we were going to do. When you asked, I just answered on a whim. It felt like the right thing to do.”
“To get somewhere private, somewhere away.”
“Our eyes meet, and I read the message.
She’s hinting at Alex again.
With the night dark all around us, with a light breeze blowing against the cabin – with the sound of the central heating humming through the building – it was easy to forget about my friend, my best friend.
It should never be easy to forget about my duty and loyalty to him.
“Yes,” I say gruffly. “That’s what I wanted. In the city, it’s too easy to think about….”
“About Alex.” She squeezes my hand even harder. “It’s all right. We can say his name.”
“Is that why you didn’t want to….”
