I frown.
“What, did she stash them in her bag or something?”
Lindy shakes her head slowly.
“No, she inserted them into her sweet spots before trying to walk out. Her pussy and her ass,” Lindy whispers in clarification, “and let me tell you, these candlesticks were sizable. They’re not just long, but they’re thick too, so it was quite the feat.”
My mouth drops open with shock.
“Are you serious?”
Lindy nods, her voice still hushed.
“Yeah. Like I said, she’s confused, but she’s also very inventive and quite tenacious, come to think of it.”
I nod my head, impressed.
“Send her my way,” is my reply. “I’ll talk to Frank, but if you think this girl could use some time away from it all, I’m totally game.”
Lindy nods.
“I will. Her name’s Taylor, and I’ll speak with club management about the best path forward. Thanks, Hads.”
I nod because it’s important to pay it forward in life. Once upon a time, I was that girl labeled as “problematic,” but look at me now: a soon-to-be mother, with a handsome man as my partner.
At that moment, Frank enters our home, and the breath catches in my throat because he’s gorgeous as usual. His black hair is a bit sweaty, but his skin is bronzed and absolutely lickable. Those blue eyes immediately find mine, and he strides over to plant a long kiss on my lips.
“Well, don’t you look beautiful today,” he murmurs. “Good enough to eat in fact.”
I giggle.
“Shhh, my mom and cousin are visiting, remember?”
But my man just grins.
“Good because I have something to show all of you. Come on, ladies,” he gestures. “Outside.”
With that, the four of us traipse to the front yard, and there right next to our porch, is a gorgeous white crib, clearly handmade by Frank. It’s about four feet tall, and my man bends over to show how the rails can slide up and down, and how there’s extra storage beneath the kiddie mattress.
“It’s perfect, right?”
Tears fill my eyes as I nod.
“It is,” I murmur softly. “Absolutely perfect for our child.”
As my mom and cousin circle the crib, marveling at the incredible workmanship, Frank pulls me into his arms and the world melts around us, leaving only me and this gorgeous man.
“Have I told you today how lucky I am to be with you, honey?” he growls.
I nod, tears pricking my eyes.
“Not as lucky as I am to be with you,” I say in a fervent tone. “I love you, Frank Lockhart.”
“I love you too, Hadley Renfrew,” he growls before leaning down to capture my lips with his own. That’s when my heart sings and begins to soar because this is the man I was meant to be with. He’s my step-uncle as well as my babydaddy, but somehow, life’s not complicated anymore. Instead, our love has cleared the path for a beautiful future together, and I can’t wait for the next chapter to begin.
