Cowboy Charm
Brie called Sir to let him know she was ready to head home. She didn’t want him to worry about her.
While Captain was escorting Brie to her car, Brie was shocked to see twice as many reporters as before.
They started talking over each other, trying to get her to answer their questions.
“Is Miss Wilson on the verge of suicide?”
“Mrs. Davis, were you sexually assaulted by your kidnappers?”
“Is it true that this is all a PR stunt to garner attention for your latest documentary?”
Captain raised his hand and growled in a commanding voice that left no room for dissent, “There will be no further questions!”
Blessed silence reigned as Brie finished buckling Antony in his car seat. She then jumped into her car and thanked Captain.
He nodded to her, then glanced back at the reporters, daring any one of them to speak.
Brie had been excited to tell Sir about her visit with Mary, but the encounter with the reporters upset her. She found their questions unsettling.
When she arrived home, she was pleasantly surprised to see that the last remaining holdout had given up. Obviously, the reporter had a better story to pursue, and her street was now free of the press. It made coming home feel much more like the welcomed escape she’d always known.
When she opened the front door, she found Sir in the living room on all fours with Hope riding piggyback. “How did it go with Miss Wilson?” he asked amid Hope’s delighted giggles.
“You were right, Sir. Mary needed me as much as I needed her.”
He nodded, helping Hope down before getting up off the floor. “How is she faring?”
Brie knew that as her former trainer, Sir would never stop caring about Mary’s well-being. “She blames herself for what happened.”
“It seems to be a trait you both share.”
She snorted sadly. “We laughed when we figured that out. It was funny until it wasn’t…” She let out a ragged sigh. “No one really knows how much Mary has suffered. It goes way beyond anything I could imagine.”
Sir walked over to Brie and wrapped an arm around her “Now that Holloway is behind bars, Miss Wilson can finally begin healing. It will take time, so you must have infinite patience with her.”
Brie kissed his cheek. “Luckily, I have the best teacher.”
“On that note, I have something I want to discuss with you. Last night was a positive step for us, but it’s obvious we still have a way to go to build back the level of trust we once had.”
“I agree, Sir,” she answered forlornly.
“To that end, I have a proposal for you. I’d like to start with the basics and slowly build on them.”
Her eyes lit up. “Like I experienced at the Submissive Training Center?”
“Exactly.” Putting both arms around her, he asked, “How would you feel if I invited some of the Doms you have worked with in the past to play out rudimentary scenes structured to build your trust? They would take place here, in your territory, so to speak. And, just like last night, you would be in control. If at any moment you reached a point where you felt uncomfortable, you would simply call out your safeword and end the session.”
She looked at him questioningly. “Why couldn’t I do that with you, Sir?”
“I want to be your safety net, babygirl. I do not want to inadvertently become a trigger point for you.”
Brie nodded, remembering the paralyzing fear she’d felt last night when he’d put the blindfold on.
“By using the same Dominants to play out past lessons, it’s my hope your prior experience with them will help you overcome any potential triggers.” He caressed her cheek. “I intend to move slowly with these lessons so that you only experience positive encounters as you build up trust.”
She gazed into his eyes. “In every way, you support me.”
