Wrapping her arms around his neck she pulled her head up and kissed him in gratitude. His lips tasted of milk chocolate.
“I’m so happy right now!” she gushed.
“Good,” Faelan replied with satisfaction. “I would say this was a positive experience for both of us.”
As they were redressing, Brie thought to mention, “One of our mutual friends saw you at the beach recently. Please feel free to visit us next time, if you want. Our door is always open.”
He shook his head. “While I appreciate the offer, our time at the beach is just for Kaylee and me.”
Brie stopped what she was doing and looked at him with tenderness. “That’s sweet.”
He glanced sideways at her. “Don’t tell anyone, but I visit the ocean once a week with my daughter so we can watch the sunset together. I swear, when I look out to the horizon at that magical moment just before the sun disappears, I can feel Kylie’s presence.”
Faelan looked at Brie with a wistful smile. “I hope Kaylee feels it, too.”
