I’d stopped thinking about it, but Lucah clearly hadn’t, because he pounced on me the second I closed the door and we had another round of intense door sex. We were getting really good at it.

“You know, if there were a Sexual Olympics, we’d totally get the gold in Door Fucking,” I said as I unwrapped my legs from around his waist and tried to stand on wobbly legs.

“Oh, definitely. We’d get tens across the board,” he said with a smile as he took both of my hands and dragged me toward the couch. “How do you think we’d do in Couch Fucking?” I leaned back and brought him with me onto the couch.

“Well, let’s find out.”

~*~*~

“Gold,” I said a little while later. “Definitely gold.” We sat next to each other and he laughed under his breath.

“I should hope so.” He reached out and held my hand. It was a simple gesture given that we’d just banged each other, but it was so sweet.

“You’re just worried that there’s going to be a stripper up at the cabin so you’re basically peeing on me to mark me as yours,” I said and he laughed in one loud burst.

“I would never pee on you, Sunshine. Unless you wanted me to.” I made a face. Sure, that might get someone else off, but I wasn’t one of those people. I had my own set of sexual proclivities, but not that.

“No thanks, but that’s very sweet of you to offer. I kissed his hand and then rested my head on his sweaty shoulder.

“Bath?” I asked.

“Definitely,” he said.

This time I sat in the tub and soaked with some lavender Epsom salts while Lucah played soothing guitar music. Being with a musically talented man had spoiled me for anyone else. Good thing I was marrying him.

I let myself stare at him as he got into his music, his eyes shuttering closed. I’d thought he was so handsome that first time I’d seen him. It had nearly knocked me off my heels, but now it was something so much more. There wasn’t a single thing about him that wasn’t attractive. That didn’t turn me on. Even the little quirks and so forth that I’d discovered when we’d moved in together made me love him more. I knew he wasn’t perfect. Neither was I. It didn’t matter though, because our love together was something so beautiful and precious. It didn’t come around every day and I was so happy that I’d managed to find it.

“You’re staring at me,” he said, his eyes opening.

“You love it,” I said.

“True. I do. Who wouldn’t want a beautiful woman adoring them?” I shrugged and rested my arms on the edge of the tub.

“I have no idea.” His fingers kept plucking at the strings, as if they went on playing without him having to tell them to. It wasn’t a conscious movement on his part, which made me love it even more. Those fingers had a mind of their own.

“So I’ve been thinking about things,” he said, looking down at the guitar. His fingers stumbled and resumed playing. Hm.

“That can be dangerous, you know,” I said, but the mood had changed and I felt a chill even though the water was still hot.

“I know,” he said, smiling briefly. “But I think this is something important we need to talk about.” Uh oh. I definitely wasn’t going to like this conversation. I wanted to go back to fucking on the couch.

“Okayyy,” I said, drawing the word out.

“I just want you to know that I had my will made out and notarized and that it’s in a shoebox in the closet on the top shelf. I know you’ll need a stepstool to get it, but it’s there.” My mouth dropped open and the music stopped.

“Are you fucking serious?” I said, expecting him to tell me that it was a joke and then smile that smile that made me forget about everything he’d just said.

His mouth formed a thin line, but he nodded.

“Yes, I’m serious.” I watched his tongue ring as he answered. It saved me from having to look at his eyes because I didn’t like what I saw in them.

“This is an insanely morbid conversation to be having,” I said, leaning back in the tub and closing my yes. I didn’t want to look at him, because then I’d have to think about what he was saying and then I’d have to think about the possibility that I might someday need what he was talking about and I just couldn’t. Just. Couldn’t.

“I know. But I just wanted you to know. My parents didn’t have wills and when it came to dividing everything up, there were disputes and it took a long time to get everything settled. I’ve had a will for a long time, but I had it updated because of, well, you.” PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT WILLS.

A childish part of me wanted to cover my ears and hum to myself so I couldn’t hear him anymore.

“Why are we talking about this?” I whispered with my eyes still closed.
