“Let go!” She did, but didn’t slow her pace and beat me to the elevator.

“And you expect me to believe you didn’t give Ryder a nice long goodbye? With tongue?” She smirked.

“Oh, there was more than tongue. It was more like a goodbye grope.” I made a face as the doors of the elevator opened.

“I didn’t need to know that.” She pushed the button for the first floor as I adjusted my bag on my shoulder. It was really heavy. Guess I had brought too many shoes.

“Hey, you asked.” That was true. I was still trying to get the mental image out of my head when we got down to the first floor.

“Are you ready for this?” Sloane asked, stopping me before I stepped out of the elevator.

“I’m not sure,” I said. “Now you’re scaring me.” She just laughed and then dragged me out of the building and gestured dramatically to a limo parked right in front of me.

“Is this for me?” I asked. Sloane rolled her eyes.

“No, it’s for the president. Of course it’s for you, babe. Only the best for my favorite bride!” The door of the limo opened and Marisol and Chloe hopped out yelling, “Surprise!” I couldn’t help but laugh as they hugged me and Sloane joined in.

“Bachelorette party!” she yelled and we all climbed into the limo.

“You all are crazy. Totally crazy. But definitely good crazy,” I said. Sloane pulled a bottle of champagne and four plastic champagne flutes from nowhere and proceeded to fill up our glasses.

“To Rory getting hitched!” We all toasted and drank. Oh, I was going to get so drunk this weekend. So, so drunk. It was going to be awesome.

Half an hour later, we were in a suite at one of the swankiest hotels in Boston, getting ready for a night out. I’d been right to pack a sexy outfit and heels. Sloane was working her magic on my hair and Chloe was doing my makeup. We could have gone to a professional, but this was so much better. Marisol had plugged her phone into a set of speakers and we had “Girl’s Night Out” tunes going. Currently “Dear Future Husband” was playing, which seemed fitting given the reason we were going out.

“Okay, you are done,” Sloane said, putting on one last spritz of hairspray to seal the loose curls she’d made. One side was pinned up with a pretty white flower. I’d chosen to bring my sparkliest dress, which was short, tight and covered in black sequins. Add my favorite pair of nude heels and I felt like ten million bucks.

“God, I wish you were a lesbian. Or bi. I would totally do you right now,” Chloe said as she stepped back and inspected her makeup job.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” I said.

“I totally mean it.” She’d done her own makeup with sexy smoky eyes and classic red lips. It was different than her usual look and it was extremely sexy on her.

“Are you going to pick up girls tonight?” I asked her, and she didn’t meet my eyes, so I grabbed her arm.

“No, I’m not going to pick up girls tonight,” she said with a heavy sigh. “Tonight is all about you, but if I happen to get a number or two, I’m not going to turn it down.” I went to the full-length mirror to check myself out again.

“Fine, fine. But no sex for you this weekend. I wouldn’t ask you to stop any other time. Three days. I just want three days of just the four of us.” I turned to check out the side and then the back view of my dress and hair.

“Okay, okay. No sex,” she grumbled.

“Oh, poor you,” Marisol said, as she bent over one of the mirrors to fix her eyeliner.

“Shut up.”

“Hey, you come talk to me when your significant other is gone for eight weeks at a time and all you can get is phone and Skype sex. Then you can get all huffy and puffy,” Marisol said. “Fortunately, we don’t have to do that much anymore.” Fin had taken over running his father’s international PR company and he’d delegated a lot of the work out so he didn’t have to be gone as much. They’d gotten an apartment as well, and I had the feeling that any time now he was going to put a ring on her finger.

“Whatever,” Chloe said and Marisol bumped her in the hip.

“No fighting!” Sloane said. “This weekend is about having fun and celebrating Rory. That’s it.” They both nodded in unison and then finished their hair and makeup.

“Now, I didn’t know if you would veto this, so I got it anyway,” Sloane said, grabbing one of the bags that was sitting in the corner of the room. I’d tried to sneak over and see what was in them a few times, but had gotten yelled at.

I almost died when she pulled out one of those sashes that said BRIDE on it, along with a glowing pink tiara and a necklace that was shaped like a penis.

“It lights up!” she said, doing something with the necklace and then presenting it to me.
