"In two weeks, I have a charity gala. It's for cancer research, the type my grandfather died from. Come with me as my date. See a different side of my life and meet my friends?"
His whole body relaxes, and he finally turns to look at me.
"I'd really like that. I don't know how this is going to work, but I don't want it to end."
He leans in and places a kiss softly on my lips.
"I don't want this to end, either. We can talk every day, text all day, video call at night."
"I like how you think. When do you have to leave?"
"Sunday night. I need to be back at work on Monday."
"We have three days, and I plan to spend them in bed with you, reminding you of all the reasons you're mine."
