The Billionaire Player (In Too Deep)

Jeremiah cracked up laughing. “Looks like it might be a threesome. No wonder she paid so much for you.”
“Very funny.” I scrubbed a hand over my face. “This just gets better and better.”
“Nah, I’m sure it’ll be just the two of you,” Jeremiah said. “It’s obvious she only wants one thing.”
“Why do you say that?” Steph asked, frowning as she clicked on a picture of the girl. “A woman can bid on a man at an auction without wanting only that one thing. Especially if she’s married.”
“What do you think she wants?” he questioned. “Why else would a married woman pay tens of thousands of dollars for a getaway with an attractive single man? Better stock up on condoms, bro.”
I shook my head and laughed before I realized the woman looked kind of familiar. “Hang on a second. I think I know her.”
“You see,” Steph declared triumphantly. “She wanted to go away with him because she knows him, not because she wants to commit adultery.”
Jeremiah shrugged. “A little from column A and a little from column B.”
“No, I don’t mean I know her,” I said. “I nearly ran into a girl last night, and this Brittany woman was with her.”
I heaved out a sigh through my nostrils. Brittany, who apparently went by Brit, was hot, but since she was also married, I wouldn’t be touching her with a ten-foot pole.
More than that, I was also wishing that her friend had bid on me instead. Even if Brit hadn’t been married, I still wouldn’t have touched her because of who she was friends with.
Something about the mystery woman had really drawn me in. Drawn my gaze back to her time and time again throughout the night. I would’ve liked to see her again, but maybe if I played my cards right with Brit, there just might be a way to make that happen.
