I wonder how Rivers would feel about that if he found out that another guy was kind of filling his void; but then, the void is so freaking big, there’s no chance in hell that Aiden could fill all that.

Tully has still been in her funk, missing him, but at least this week she hasn’t burst out into spontaneous tears. Noah though, as well as hanging out with Maxen at the track nearly every day after school, he’s been spending time with Spencer and Jared. It’s weird, but at the same time, it’s kind of nice seeing him branching out and letting new people in.

My phone chimes on my bed beside me and I glance down to see Noah’s name across the screen.

I unlock it and quickly read over his text.

Noah – Get that fine ass of yours to Maxen’s track. I’ve got something to show you.

I let out a huff, absolutely torn. I mean, going out and seeing Noah is always great, but staying home for the first time in forever and chilling out with my new Kindle. Damn.

I get up from my bed and start throwing on clothes but deciding to play with him in the process.

Henley – Nah. I’m reading.

Noah – I’m going to count to three and if your ass is not in your car driving here, you’ll regret it.

Noah – 1.

Henley – How exactly will I regret it? Are you going to punish me for being a naughty girl?

Noah – Fuck, yes.

Noah – 2.

Henley – In that case, I’m just going to wait you out and see what you’ve got. I bet you couldn’t rock my world as good as I could do it myself!!!

Noah – 3.

Noah – You better be fucking ready for me, Spitfire!

Henley – Damn. I’m already wet! See you soon.

I pull on a pair of dark, ripped jeans, my boots, and a tank before pulling on a badass jacket. Yeah, I look fucking incredible. Un-fucking-touchable. Hell, I even go as far to put my hair up in a high pony and put on a dark lipstick before glancing at myself in the mirror.

Noah’s going to like this and I can’t wait to see the look on his face or the bulge in his pants when he first takes me in. We might have to bring this punishment forward a few hours.

As I finish getting myself ready, I can’t help but notice Frog swimming around in his little bowl. The poor thing. I walk forward and bend down to look at him before giving him a little food. “I’m sorry,” I tell him. “Mommy has to go.”

I start to leave when I look back at my little fishy. I feel bad for him always alone in my room with nothing to look at but my empty bed. With that thought, I stride forward and slide my phone into my back pocket before picking up his bowl and doing my absolute best not to fuck this up by falling flat on my face and killing the poor little guy.

I get out of my room and walk up the hallway until I’m putting Frog down on the table in the living room where he’ll be able to see the front door, the hallway, the kitchen, and of course, the dining area. He should be happier here. Besides, he’ll be able to play with Aria all the time and she’ll absolutely love that.

With that sorted, I scoop my car keys off the entryway table and get my ass out of here before Dad can find a reason for me to have to stay behind.

I drop down into my beautiful yellow car, turn her on, and instantly get goosebumps from the feel of the engine purring beneath me. That’ll never get old.

I start making my way towards Maxen’s property, hoping to God that I can remember the way. I’m about halfway there when my phone starts going nuts in my pocket, cutting off the music as it comes through the Bluetooth. Again, another thing that will never get old.

Tully’s name flashes across my dashboard and I instantly hit accept on my steering wheel, feeling like the fanciest bitch around.

“What’s up?” I say, focusing on the traffic and hoping all the people in the other cars on the road are jealous of my baby.

“Is Noah forcing you to go to Maxen’s place?” she questions with a groan.

“Uh huh. You too?”

“Yep. Do you know what’s going on?”

“No idea, but he seemed excited,” I tell her.

Tully sighs and I grin, knowing what’s coming next. “Yeah, that’s what I’m worried about,” she says. “I just can’t understand what’s so freaking important that we need to go see right this very minute.”

“Who knows?” I laugh. “It’s always a surprise where your brother is concerned.”

“Don’t I know it,” she grumbles. “We’ll be there soon.”
