She gasped as she took in the scene around her. “It’s gorgeous, Miles.”

I smiled tenderly at her. “I’d hoped you would like it.” Taking her hand, I gestured to the sweeping staircase. “How about I give you the full tour?”

Emma shuffled, her expression a little anxious, even as she smirked at me. “I assume that tour’s going to end with the bedroom?”

I laughed and tugged her in close so I could give her a passionate kiss. Pleased with her dazed expression and the fire burning in her green eyes, I grinned. “I am definitely most interested in showing you the bedroom, sweetheart.”

Chapter Four

EMMA

I was more nervous following him up the steps to the bedroom than I’d been walking down the aisle to marry him. But I was equally as excited. We’d been pronounced man and wife. I’d signed the certificate. But none of that made it seem as real as the idea of consummating our marriage—which would be my first time having sex. When we hit the top of the stairs and neared an open doorway, I balked.

Before I could step backwards, his hand tightened around mine, and he pulled me closer. “There’s no need to be nervous, my beautiful wife. I’ve got you.”

“What if that’s the reason for my nerves?”

He backed me against the wall next to the bedroom door and tilted my head up with a strong finger on my chin. Not giving me a chance to ask what he was doing, his mouth crashed against mine. With his body wrapped around mine and his tongue sliding against my lips until they parted and let him in, I forgot about my concerns as passion clouded my senses. I melted against him, my arms lifting to wrap around his shoulders, and he nipped at my bottom lip.

“Emma,” he groaned into my mouth, pressing closer to me. His hips jerked forward, and I felt his hard length pressed against my belly. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you, and now you’re here. And you’re my wife. Finally.”

“Finally?” I giggled. “It’s been barely more than a week since we first laid eyes on each other, and we’re already married and about to—” I paused, heat filling my cheeks as I stumbled over what exactly to call it. Making love? Sex? The f-word?

“I’m about to get inside that tight little pussy of yours,” he growled, sweeping me up into his arms. He carried me down the hall and through the open doorway into a huge bedroom. My gaze landed on a king-sized bed pushed against the opposite wall, and I gasped at the sight of the red rose petals strewn across the dusky-blue comforter. I scanned the rest of the room and barely took in the luxurious furniture as I spotted candles burning on virtually every available flat surface.

“Wow,” I breathed out. “Did you do all of this for me?”

“You’d better fucking believe it,” he rasped, gently tossing me onto the mattress. “I can hardly wait for everything I have planned for our honeymoon, but I wanted us to spend our first night as man and wife here in our home. In the bed we’ll share for the rest of our lives.”

My breathing quickened as he lowered himself over me and trailed his fingers under my wedding gown.

“Your dress looks fucking perfect on you, but I’m willing to bet it’ll look even better on our floor.” He rose up on his knees and gently turned me on my side, his fingers going to the buttons along the back of the dress and quickly undoing them. Once he got the bodice free, he pushed it over my shoulders and down my body. Then he rolled me onto my back again, and my hands went up over my breasts. The dress was snug, with a built-in bra, and I’d never bared myself to a man before.

“Fucking gorgeous,” he rumbled, gently tugging my hands away. It didn’t take much effort on his part since the gleam of male appreciation in his eyes eased some of my self-consciousness.

“Miles.” I’d meant to say his name as a protest, but it came out as a gasp instead when his finger trailed down from my collarbone to circle my nipple.

“So damn perfect, they make my mouth water.” He dipped his head low and latched onto it with his lips, sucking deep and making my back arch. I dug my fingers into his thick, red hair and pressed him closer. By the time he switched his attention to the other side, I was writhing beneath him.

I whimpered when he pulled away to slide my dress over my hips and down my legs, leaving me in only a pair of white lace panties. A growl rumbled up his chest, and his blue eyes filled with need. He ripped his tuxedo jacket off his torso and tossed it to the floor, his bow tie quickly following. After undoing the buttons on his dress shirt, he wedged himself between my legs and began to lower his head. My heart fluttered in panic, and I pushed at his shoulders. “What’re you doing?”
