“I thought you were sleeping?” I ask.
“Only resting, which is what you should be doing,” she replies.
She closes my computer and pulls me by the hand back to our bedroom.
I realize that she is right. We climb back into bed. I’m treated to a back massage that relaxes me so good that I forget about everything including work.
Afterwards, I lay beside her and wrap my arms around her. She snuggles against my chest and I can feel her fall asleep in my arms.
As my own eyes start to close, memories of everything we have ever done together dance in my mind. As much as they make me smile, none of them compare to the memories we have made during our two years of marriage.
I start to dream of our future together. Our baby growing up, the things we will accomplish together. How happy Sheila and I are as we grow old together. As I fall asleep, I feel a happiness in my heart that I never felt until the day that I met Sheila. I’m so glad everything has worked out so well for us, all from the most unbelievable start.
