All I knew was that from the moment I saw the man, I wanted him.

It was friday night and after I’d watched the time tick by waiting for Parker to pull into his driveway, I finally gave up. I decided to grab a microwave dinner and curl up in front of the television. As I sat there staring at my finished Lean Cuisine and starting my second episode of a random reality television show about a bunch of supermodels finding love at first sight, the doorbell rang. I glanced over at the clock and saw that it was almost ten.

I crossed the room and opened the door wide. There, standing in front of me, was Parker, in a ten-thousand-dollar suit, looking like a million bucks while I stood there with ripped jeans and my father’s vintage Nirvana t-shirt.

“What’s your favorite song?” He asked, smiling at me, making my panties combust on the spot. I stood there staring back at him like a moron, not able to force any of the words to come out of my mouth. I didn’t have any comebacks or funny remarks. I was just awestruck by this handsome man standing before me.

“You ok, Kitty Cat?” He asked, his smile growing wider on his beautifully chiseled face. It was an absolute sin for a man to look that good.

“Ummm… sorry?” I wavered, my voice shaky, just like my hands.

“What’s your favorite Nirvana song?”

“Oh, Heart Shaped Box,” I said, before moving aside to let him in the door. “Do you want to come in? It’s a little chilly tonight.”

“Nope, I came by to take you to dinner.”

“Oh, I’ll get dressed then,” I said as calmly as humanly possible while my inner girl was screeching and jumping up and down uncontrollably.

“I know it’s a little late, but work has been brutal these past couple of weeks. I could have waited and done a proper date, but I was going a little insane with not seeing you. So here I am. A boy, looking at a girl, asking her to go out to dinner. But you don’t have to change. The place isn’t that fancy. I’ll be the one sticking out like a sore thumb. Even after I remove the jacket and tie.”

“Well, I would love to go grab a bite to eat with you,” I said, grabbing my bag from the front entrance before following him out the front door. We walked silently over to his car, parked in my parents’ driveway.

“We’re driving there in that?” I asked, pointing to his Porsche 550 Spyder. “I didn’t think anyone other than James Dean owned one of those.”

Parker let out a booming laugh that did all kinds of things to my lady parts. His voice was strong and vibrant. It was so textured that I felt I could almost touch it.

“It’s my grandpa’s. It went to my dad and then when he passed a few years back, I got her. She was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen, well she was. Then I saw you.”

Chapter 4

Parker

Hot latin music rang through the air as I swung Catherine’s door wide, helping her out of my car at the best taco truck in the city.

“I didn’t even know this was here.” Her eyes rounded and she inhaled deeply. “It smells so good.”

I settled my hand at the dip of her back, guiding us to the neon-green and bright yellow food truck that had a line wrapping around the sidewalk. “It’s my favorite place, especially after hours.”

“Is that so?” She rubbed her arms together.

“Are you cold?” I shrugged out of my suit jacket and slipped it over her arms, replacing her palms with my own to warm her up.

“Thank you.” She grinned up at me.

Before I could tell her the real reason I’d brought her here, the men of the hour started playing traditional drums and instruments. A proper six-piece Mexican orchestra had assembled and was entertaining the line of late-night customers.

Many of them started hooting and hollering, a few drunk college guys dancing in line as splashes of their Coronas and laughter filled the air.

“That’s why this is my favorite place.” I spun her in my arms, obsessed with the feeling of her against me. “The music is good and the people-watching is better.”

She giggled softly into my shoulder as I worked her hips against mine, our bodies grazing to the beats of the band. My hands slipped down her curvy body, across her round hips and underneath my loose fitting suit jacket.

“Nothing beats being here with a beautiful dance partner though.” I dragged my lips down the side of her neck, ending with the softest nip, before pulling away and spinning her into a deep dip. The tails of my jacket kissed the ground as I held her elegant form in place, her breaths heaving her chest, nipples perky and pushing through the shirt she wore, making my body hungry to have her any way I could. “You’ve been obsessing my thoughts since the moment I saw you.”
