Chain - Heartlands Motorcycle Club - Page 25

I step next to her and grab a towel, helping to dry the pile of platters and serving dishes while Bob Seger plays on the speaker, drawing music from her iPhone.

“Tara said she’ll be back later.”

“I know. She had to go take care of some stuff at the club. I think that ‘stuff’ has a name, but she’s not quite ready to give anything up yet.”

My mom smiles, her blue eyes sparkling. “You’re both so pissy about your private life.”

“Just how it is, Mom. You have Meadow now, she’ll tell you anything, anytime.”

“True.”

They’ve gotten along like peas and carrots since they met, and this whole domestic life is better than I dreamed.

I want to be a good man. But more, a good husband and father.

Meadow and I have taken the investments and currency trading to a new level. We have our own accounts, her accounts from before, and we’ve added some damn respectable zeros to the club accounts too.

There’s still some disagreement between the members on the new direction of the club, but no one’s lost their life or patches yet, so I’m confident we will find our new balance and move to a new level.

“Have you set a date yet?” My mom chimes into my thoughts, and I shake my head.

“Not yet. Meadow’s dragging her feet. Can’t decide if she wants to have some princess ball, Cinderella deal, or just ride off to the Justice of the Peace. Every day is something different. Her fucking hormones are gonna be the death of me.”

My mom swats my arm. “You be careful. You don’t mess with a pregnant woman. She’ll cut your balls off while you sleep.”

“Jesus, Mom. Don’t talk about my balls.”

She goes back to drying a fry pan. “Just sayin’. Your father told me once I was being hormonal and you know what happened to him.”

“Yeah. Not every father has to explain the scar on the back of his left hand is from when your mother buried a fork into it when she was three months pregnant with you.”

“I was mad.”

Troy and Killian come in the front door, grabbing their jackets and slipping them on.

“We’re off.” Troy says, walking over and giving my mom a kiss on her cheek. “Killian’s old lady is blowing up his fucking phone. She needs dick.”

“Jesus, Troy.” I cock my head toward my mom, who rolls her eyes.

“You think I didn’t notice, I was always ready for your father’s di—”

“Stop.” I cut her off and she chuckles, winking at Troy.

“All of you, out. I’ll finish. I want my house back. You’re all a pain in the ass.”

They curse me out, even my mother, but they gather their shit and a few minutes later I’ve done a couple bro hugs and kissed my mom, before watching them all ride off down the road.

A fuck load has changed in a couple months.

I’ve changed.

Who knew a little grifter thief would fail at stealing from the club.

But succeed in locking down my heart.

I check my watch and make my way to the porch, taking a seat and staring down the road, waiting for my princess to come home.

Chapter Seventeen

Meadow

Epilogue – Ten Years Later

“Chain, please.” I arch my back as his mouth gives me no mercy, taking me up and over the hurdle again and tumbling me into about my fifth orgasm since we got to the cabin.

His head comes up from between my legs with a smile. Those blue eyes still light up my heart and his smile still makes my body flutter.

“Those words never get old. I said I wanted to hear them about a million times. I want a million more.”

He kisses his way up my belly to my lips, slipping his monster cock inside me as he goes, and I gasp as his lips take mine and I taste myself on him. His beard is wet from my orgasms, his warm tongue slipping between my lips as he slowly seats himself every inch inside of me.

He pulls back from our kiss, pushing up so his face is above me, the muscles in his shoulders tight.

“Happy anniversary.” I mutter, reaching up to tug his beard, his long hair hanging in his eyes.

“Happy anniversary, princess.” He answers with a hard thrust that has the bed riding hard against the wall.

We got married in a church. I wanted the whole ceremony thing even though God has never been a center point in my life. We invited so many club members from Heartlands, and other friends from other clubs along with their entire families, we ended up with about five hundred hard partyers, drinking Jack and beer, their women and children in tow and everyone laughed and danced until dawn.

My dress was full on princess, and I made Chain wear a tuxedo but I let him switch into his vest and the dress shirt and bow tie for the reception. We are alike and so different, but we rarely argue.
