His Baby Agenda

“Me, too,” Conner said.
She hugged Conner and got to her feet to walk over to Kingsley. “Why the genie outfit? I don’t want magic tricks. I want the real man.”
“I know that,” Kingsley said. “But the truth is I love you and I will do whatever I have to in order to make you feel the same way.”
“I love you, too, Kingsley, but that was never the issue. Can you let me be a part of your life? Trust me to stay by your side?”
“I can. In fact, that’s why I’m your genie. I’ll be by your side granting all of your wishes.”
“And if I wish for you to give up on this revenge idea?” she asked.
“Then I will continue to help Hunter—we have to talk about that later—but will not be involved in taking justice into my own hands,” Kingsley said.
She looked into his eyes, searching for the truth, and it was there for her to see. He wasn’t hiding from her or from his emotions anymore. He loved her.
She couldn’t believe it. It was what she’d wanted from the first time they met. A schoolgirl’s crush had developed into a true and deep love. She hadn’t dared to hope. Had thought he was too caught in the past to ever make a real commitment to her, but she was glad to be proved wrong.
She threw herself into his arms and he caught her and swung her around in a circle, kissing her.
“You’ve made all my wishes come true,” she said.
“As you’ve done for me. Wishes I never dared to dream I could have,” Kingsley said.
“If Gammi isn’t going to use all her wishes, can I have one?” Conner asked.
Kingsley started laughing and Gabi reached for Conner’s hand.
“What do you want?” Kingsley asked, striking his genie pose again with his hands on his hips.
“A family. The three of us to be a family,” he said.
“I want that, too,” Kingsley said. “Will you marry me, Gabi?”
She looked at these two men who meant the world to her and realized that she hadn’t dreamed she could ever be as happy as she was in this moment.
“Yes, I will marry you.”
“Yay!” Conner yelled, dancing around them.
Kingsley drew her into his arms and kissed her. She put her hands on his face and looked into his eyes, remembering the first time she met him and fell for him. She’d thought she’d found her true love and now she realized that the love she had for Kingsley was deeper and stronger than ever before.
He dropped to one knee.
“What are you doing, Daddy?”
“Asking Gabi to marry me,” Kingsley said to Conner.
Conner came over and knelt next to his dad and Gabi felt as if her heart couldn’t get any fuller. Kingsley reached for her hand and when she gave it to him, Conner reached up and held it too.
“Will you marry me, Gabi? Will you be a part of our family?”
“Will you, Gammi?” Conner added.
She knelt down in front of the Buchanan men and wrapped her arms around them both. “Yes, I will.”
Kingsley drew back and took a ring box from his pocket. He opened it up and Conner put his hand on his dad’s arm and lifted the ring out. He held it out to Gabi and King helped Conner put it on her finger.
They spent the rest of the day together, and when Conner was safely tucked in bed for the night, Kingsley made love to her. He held her close all night long and promised her she’d spent the rest of her life by his side.
