“I know.” She smiled. “I’ve never seen them this relaxed. They actually seem pretty happy tonight.”
When the song finally ended, Lane took her by the hand, led her across the dance floor and straight to the house, waving to his brothers as they walked past them. He held her hand as they climbed the stairs, then stopped at the door with the poker chip he’d given her attached to it—the door to the master suite.
“I’ve been wanting to make love to you in this bedroom ever since it was finished,” he said, picking her up to carry her across the threshold of their newly decorated room. They had agreed to wait to make love in their new bedroom until after they were man and wife.
“Oh, I forgot about the fireworks,” Taylor said when he started to unbutton the tiny buttons at the back of her wedding gown.
“Don’t worry about it, babe,” he said, giving her a kiss filled with all of the love in his heart. “We’ll make some fireworks of our own.”
And as the night sky outside their bedroom window was lit by an array of colored starbursts, they did just that.
