The Lone Star Cinderella - Page 46

Still smiling, Dave used the soap dispenser on the wall of the shower and pumped some of the clear green gel into the palm of his hand. Then, scrubbing his palms together, he worked up a lather before cupping her breasts and smoothing the luxurious soap over her skin.

Mia sighed and swayed unsteadily. His thumbs worked her nipples into hard peaks and a burning ache set up shop between her legs. She moved into him, and ran her hands up and down his back and over his butt. She grazed him lightly with her fingernails and heard him hiss in a ragged breath. She smiled, knowing that he was as wildly needy as she was.

“God, you feel good,” he told her, bending to kiss the curve of her neck and trail his lips and teeth back up the column of her throat to her mouth. “Taste good, too.”

She shivered as he turned her until her back was against the smooth, gleaming tiles.

“Bet you taste good all over,” he whispered and slid down the length of her body, taking his time about it, kissing her, stroking her until Mia was a quivering mass of sensation, pinned to the wall.

“Dave…”

The hot water rose up in steam all around them, blossoming like fog in the big bathroom. Mia opened her eyes and looked down to where he knelt in front of her and she swallowed past the knot of need and anticipation clogging her throat.

Dave nudged her thighs apart with his fingertips, and still meeting her gaze, rubbed the core of her with the pad of his thumb. Electrical jolts shattered her and she gasped in response, instinctively widening her stance for him, silently inviting more of his attentions. Again and again, he stroked her until Mia was whimpering with need.

She reached for him blindly, threaded her fingers through his hair and said, “Dave, please. I can’t…”

“Yeah, you can,” he murmured, then leaned in and took her with his mouth. Lips, tongue, teeth all worked her already sensitized flesh. He licked and tasted and nibbled until Mia’s nerve endings were strung so tightly she thought she might simply explode into millions of tiny, needy pieces.

She braced one hand on the shower wall and with the other, she cupped the back of Dave’s head, holding him to her. Her hips rocked in the rhythm he set and her breath came in short, hard gasps. Tipping her head back against the shower wall, she opened her eyes, stared into the steamy fog and felt lost. As if she’d been swallowed by sensation. There was no up. No down. There was only Dave and what he was doing to her.

“Dave… Oh…my…” Every word was a victory. Every breath a triumph.

When he pushed her closer and closer to the edge of completion, Mia looked down at him, wanting to see it all. Wanting to have this picture in her mind. So when she remembered this time with him she’d have something specific to torture herself with.

Then his tongue did a slow swirl over one particular spot and the moment ended with Mia shouting his name as her body splintered all around him.

* * *

She couldn’t stand, so Dave lowered her to the long, wide seat carved into the wall of the shower itself. Then he turned, adjusted a few of the shower jets, aiming them directly at the bench where Mia lay sensually sprawled.

“We’re not done, you know,” he said.

She fixed her eyes on him and gave him a slow satisfied smile. “I’m so happy to hear that.”

Damn, this was some kind of woman, he told himself as he leaned over her, bracing his hands on either side of her head. She was beautiful and sexy and always ready for him. She was a match for him in a lot of ways, and if he were a man looking for a permanent woman, Mia Hughes would be the one he’d chase down and hog-tie.

But he didn’t do permanent because there was no such thing. People made promises to each other all the damn time and broke them just as often. He wouldn’t be part of that. Wouldn’t make a promise only to let it shatter. Wouldn’t walk out on his responsibilities. And the one way to make sure that didn’t happen was to avoid making those “forever” kind of promises in the first damn place.

That’s why he insisted on contracts for even the most minor deals. Harder to break a signed promise.

So he would have Mia as often as he could. He would give her all he had.

For the time they had together.

Then it would end.

She reached up and pushed his wet hair back from his face. Frowning slightly, she asked, “What’re you thinking? You look so…sad, all of a sudden.”

“It’s nothing,” he lied, and lowered his head to hers for a kiss. “Nothing.”

She didn’t look convinced, but he’d change her mind about that. His body was hard and hot and so damn eager he had to force himself out of the shower long enough to cross to the top drawer in the vanity. He yanked out a condom, tore the package open then worked the sheath down over his straining erection.
