“Perfect,” Junior says, holding daddy’s Nikon camera down as he looks at the picture.
“What’s up, son?”
“Did you get a good shot?”
“Yes.” He shows us the camera and both of us gasp.
“He has your talent, Emmitt.”
“That he does. This is one that goes in the special book.”
“Yes,” Junior cheers. He runs off, snatching the food off the counter to take to the dining room.
“They love that book almost as much as I do.”
“That’s because they love you like I do.” He kisses me and I melt in his arms. Since I’ve been in Emmitt’s arms, I never mind waking up early. In fact, I always do.
