Bad Dog - Too Bad It's Fake - Page 15

“I wasn’t sure if you could handle that,” he confessed.

“It was amazing,” I said, barely able to lift my head from the stair.

“Really?” he asked.

“Do it again.”

Lifting me up into something resembling a kneeling position, Sam reached under me with his left hand, stroking my pussy and behind me with his right one, working my asshole with the same pattern. He kept everything thing the same, right up until he slipped two fingers into my pussy and started working my clit, keeping his right hand busy teasing my asshole.

Again, I felt so good I thought I might pass out, right up until the moment I came, unable to hold it in anymore.

Stroking my hair to calm me down, Sam easily scooped me up into his strong arms and carried me upstairs. He lay me out on the bed, taking off the rest of my clothes before tucking me into the king-sized bed.

Taking off his clothes as well, he got into the other side, holding me from behind, spooning me until we both fell asleep.

The knock came suddenly, making Sam drop his fork onto the plate. He’d cooked breakfast for us, and I really was quite impressed with his culinary skills.

‘Who can that be?” he asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin before going to answer the door.

The dogs were going crazy, barking their heads off at the sudden noise. I went to calm them and keep them quiet as Sam answered the door, but I was still close enough to hear the exchange.

“We need Benny back,” a man’s voice said.

“Benny!” repeated a tearful child’s voice, on the verge of hysterics.

“Jim, I— I know I said I’d bring him by in a while, but it has it been that long?” I heard Sam ask.

“It has been three weeks, Sam, and you have clearly been avoiding this issue for whatever stupid reason, and my son would like his dog back.”

“Well, I – ”

Clearly Sam needed me to step in here and save him from whatever argument they were having. It was best for Benny to go with these people who were saying he belonged to them.

Before he could finish, I came out of the playroom with Benny in his kennel. It had been a challenge to get him into it, he was growing so fast. He wouldn’t be able to be carried like this for much longer, but at least he was getting used to being walked on a leash.

“Here you go,” I said quietly, handing the kennel to the man, who I recognized as Sam’s lawyer friend from the first visit to the park.

“Benny!” the little boy said again, this time a lot more cheerful.

He stuck tiny fingers into the kennel and squealed with laughter.

Sam turned to me, his expression embarrassed.

“Ronda. I can explain.”

Chapter Eleven

Sam

Shit, I had thought, as soon as Jim had come to the door.

He had been texting me, asking me to stop by or call, but I had been avoiding it because I just hadn’t felt quite ready to give up Benny. And at work, I avoided him, working in the Venice office because I had a deposition there to prepare for, but also because it meant not having to run into Jim at the downtown L.A. office.

So, this was definitely a day I knew was coming, and in fact, it was one that should have come a lot sooner. I was just so wrapped up in my own happiness that I didn’t really think that much about it.

And truthfully, I’d gotten kind of used to having little Benny around and liked the pup. But my procrastination had only made everything worse.

Having little James there, so distraught over missing his dog, added a whole extra level of guilt on top of everything else that had been going on. I hadn’t meant to carry on this charade so long to Ronda. But I was so afraid of losing her that I turned into the kind of person I swore I would never be.

So, I decided to come clean, fully.

“Benny isn’t really my dog,” I told her. “I was watching him for Jim for a while when he got the cold and I brought him in. You assumed he was mine and I… I just kind of went along with it.

“Sorry to interrupt, but we should be going,” Jim said coolly, slinging the kennel onto his shoulder. “I’ll see you around at the office, Sam, if you ever come back to the downtown one or I venture out to Venice.”

He was clearly still pissed at me, and rightfully so. I mentally vowed to make it up to him and James.

And as they walked away, I could also see any credibility I might have had with Ronda vanishing in the distance with them. I was sure she was going to be royally pissed. Break it off right there. Maybe even give me a slap for good measure. Not that I didn’t deserve it.
