The Bully's Nanny - The Nannies

Entering the kitchen, he saw his wife standing at the door overlooking the garden. She looked stunning and he never got tired of seeing her. She had no idea that he pursued her professor and got the man to answer for the crimes he committed against her and fellow colleagues. No woman in college should ever have their education suffer because of an asshole like that. As for his woman, she did work for a short time as a counselor, but her love of being a stay-at-home mom won. She helped their children and was always home for them and him.
“What is it this time?”
“Meghan, of course.”
Their bratty teenage daughter, complete with glasses and braces, sat on the porch steps.
“She’s crying again?” He wrapped his arms around his wife, breathing her in. Fuck, he loved her so much.
As he kissed her neck, she turned toward him. “Go and talk to her.”
“That’s my job.” He kissed her again and stepped out onto the porch.
“Go away, Dad.”
He’d long ago lost the title of Daddy. Meghan believed she was too old to call him that. At fifteen, he could imagine why.
While he sat down beside her, she wiped at her eyes. In the process, she pushed her glasses up on her nose.
“Do you want to tell me what’s going on?”
“Jasper. He’s a dick.”
He let that one slide.
“He keeps telling everyone I have four eyes, and he makes fun of my braces. He’s so mean.”
“Do you cry in front of him?”
“No. Of course not.”
“Then ignore him. He’s a bully and one thing I know for certain, don’t give him any attention.”
“Won’t that make him angry?”
“Probably, but it might also make him realize that no matter what he says or does, he’s not going to win. You’re stronger than him.”
“Did you see that in Callie?”
They’d never lied to Meghan. When she asked what they were like in high school, he’d been brutally honest, and now, his daughter was experiencing the same problems.
“No, I didn’t see anything in Callie until she came back. I’m not telling you you’re going to have a great love story with this kid, but don’t let him get to you. He’s a dick and needs to grow up. You, my darling, are beautiful. You’re smart, funny, kind. Yes, even with your braces and your glasses.”
Meghan chuckled. “Thanks, Daddy.”
He smiled. His little girl was still in there somewhere.
“I’ve got to go and finish my homework.”
Meghan went back inside and seconds later, Callie joined him. “He’s a dick?”
“I didn’t know what else to say.”
“I think you got through to her.”
“Yeah, well, if this Jasper turns out to actually love her, I’m not going to be as forgiving as your father.”
Callie laughed and snuggled up against him. “Love you, Drew.”
“Love you more than anything, my love.”
They watched the sun start to set. In the house, they heard their kids as they all made noise. This was his life. With his love in his arms, he didn’t want anything else.
