Steve is coming along because he feels guilty about what almost happened to Lora at his party, something I’ve told him time and again that was not his fault, but he can’t seem to get over it. It’s his reaction to that whole thing that has brought us closer. He’s shown himself to be a standup guy, someone I could be proud to be friends with.
So while Lora got ready to greet her girls at the house to do whatever the fuck it is that females do when they get together, I headed out to meet the guys in town. If anyone knew what we were up to, we’d be the ones going to jail, but that twit had it coming, and I don’t plan on getting caught.
People sleep on teens; they think we’re either too brain dead or stupid to know shit. Not true, at least not for myself, or anyone I surround myself with. Granted, things are way different now than they had been for the generation before us, and the ones before them, we’re way more advanced and have the technology to keep up. But I’m pretty sure my dad would’ve done the same thing had he been in the same position of having to protect his girl from a psychotic bitch.
He may have gone about it in a different way, of course, using the resources available to him. But I’m not mad that the shit is so easy for me, and I’m not about to apologize or lose any sleep over taking Sherry’s ass down. If I left her to do this shit to someone else in the future, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sleep in peace again.
Her own words had sealed her fate. I’d poured over every sentence she wrote in that diary and knew well the inner workings of her twisted fuck mind. I have no idea still why she thought it was a good idea to write all that shit down, then again she hadn’t been expecting anyone else to see, or to be able to get past her coded shit.
That’s where Paul’s expertise had come in. He’s the one who’d pretty much taught me how to break into people’s shit. Now he, and Steve are going to help me put the final stages on the trap I’m setting for her ass to walk into. The last few days of pressure should be getting to her now, I’m sure, and it won’t be long before she makes her move.
You see, she already has a detailed escape route mapped out in case she gets handed over to the law. She’s already done her research on how to game the system. She already knows that her looks and just the right hint of innocence can help her get out of shit, and plans to use that to get a lighter sentence if it comes to that.
In her mind, someone like her doesn’t deserve and shouldn’t be punished for her crimes. She sees herself as not only above the law but also above society’s norms period. In short, the shit doesn’t pertain to her because she has money and looks. Hey, it’s not my thinking, it’s hers. Since those are the two things she relies on most to keep her ass in the crazy lane, I’m going to make sure she loses both.
Lora
I was a little surprised when Penny called and asked to come over. She and I have never really had any dealings with one another, but she didn’t exactly give me a choice to refuse, just said she was coming with a few others. I don’t know why, but I got the feeling this had something to do with Tyler and what he’s been up to, so I caved.
The reason I felt this was because of a look that had passed between those two the day before when the buzz in the cafeteria had been about Sherry being expelled or something along those lines. I’d never seen Penny with Tyler before, as far as I know, she wasn’t one of his conquests, but who knows. Besides, from what I remember, it had been more a look of understanding than one of ‘I want to jump your bones again.’
It’s my own curiosity that now had me sitting at the edge of my seat in anticipation as I awaited their arrival. I’d purposely not told Tyler who it was that was coming over today, and he, seemingly preoccupied with his own stuff, hadn’t asked. That’s a red flag if I ever saw one. Lately, he’s been overprotective to the point of being suffocating, so the fact that he didn’t grill me for every minute detail told me that he was up to something.
TYLER
“Bruh, you were spot on. How did you know she was going to do this shit?” That was Paul’s way of greeting me when I pulled up to his house before I even made it inside.
