She wasn’t bragging and that was the thing I liked most about Maisie, other than her incredible fucking figure, she was confident without bragging.

“I’ll have to remember that for next time,” I told her and enjoyed the way her blue eyes lit up with heat at my proximity, the shiver she couldn’t suppress, making her tits jiggle behind that sexy red bikini.

Maisie turned with a sultry grin that spread slow from one ear to the next.

“You do that.” Her attention left me when Bonnie and Cal stood, and she frowned up at them. “Are you leaving already, Bon?”

Bonnie slid another glance to Cal before she looked back at Maisie with a nod.

“Yep.” Her gaze bounced from me to Calvin and back again.

“Thanks for inviting me along. Everything was delicious and your home is…stunning.” Her words were sincere despite the fact that she clearly knew of the Ashby family.

“I’ve been ordered to dinner with the parents tonight since they leave in the morning for six months in South America. Argentina, I think,” she said with a frown. “Some missionary work.”

The shock on Cal’s face was palpable, and I buried my own smile behind a tumbler of whiskey.

“How about a tour before you head out? I’ll give you a ride,” he offered with a shy smile that made Bonnie smile.

“That would be lovely, thanks.”

Maisie’s blue gaze met mine and we shared a silent smile as they left us. Alone together.

Finally.

Maisie sighed. “I didn’t think they would ever leave,” she laughed and shook her head before turning to me with heat in her eyes.

Damn, she was a beautiful woman. And she had no idea of her power. Her allure. “That eager to be alone with me?” Because I’d thought of nothing but sliding into her wet heat since I last left her body.

She shrugged. “Like you don’t know.”

“Doesn’t mean a man doesn’t like to hear it now and again,” I told her with a playful smile.

Maisie threw her head back and laughed. The sound was sexy and welcome as it slid into my veins and heated up my whole fucking body.

“Well, we’re alone now. What are you gonna do about it?”

The iron patio furniture made a loud scraping noise when I pushed the chair back to stand, holding a hand out to Maisie.

“Show you my favorite part of this house.”

Her lips curled into a seductive grin and she put her hand in mine.

“Lead the way, then.”

Exactly what I wanted to hear. I guided her down the steps that offered an incredible view of the two main pools as well as the property beyond, and I kept going until I got to the private spot I craved most. One pool simulated a private man-made lake with pristine blue water, a silky white sand beach, and gently tumbling waterfall.

“Here we are.”

Maisie took a step forward and looked around.

I stood there, watching her, curious to see if her eyes would fill with dollar signs or heat. She gasped and took a step forward.

“A beach? At your house? Ooh, impressive,” she said. As soon as she was able to close her mouth, she dipped a toe in the water.

“It’s perfect,” she cooed, and kept going, spinning around to face me when she was knee-deep, splashing sprays of crystal clear water that glinted like diamonds in the sun.

“You have on too many clothes for the beach, Virgil.”

The way she said my name with that slight southern drawl never failed to make my dick hard and now was no exception.

“Can’t have that, can we?”

“Hell no we can’t,” I growled and tugged on the hem of my shirt and pulled it off, tossing it behind me. It would have been damn impossible to miss the heat in her gaze when she took in the details of my body. The muscles. The tattoos. And when she licked her lips, I kicked off my sandals and stepped in the water.

“Better?”

She nodded slowly, her black hair bouncing all around her shoulders as it caught sunlight from every angle.

“Almost perfect.” She practically purred and fell back until she was fully submerged in the water. She popped up with a smile and slicked her hair back, a move that made her eyes glitter like sapphires.

Fuck me, she was just what I needed today. Maisie. Hot sun and warm water after another night of memories that I couldn’t fucking forget. Father Ray Sullivan was the one damn demon I couldn’t shake and nothing, no amount of fucking ever helped.

Until Maisie.

“Hey now, what’s that frown for?” She did a sexy little bounce walk in the water until we were face to face, barely a foot apart, and pressed her thumb between my eyebrows until the frown disappeared.

“I wore this barely there bikini in bright red so you’d notice, and you’re frowning. That,” she said with a phony pout, “is a big problem, Virgil. A big damn problem.”
