“So tell me about that dress. Whose idea was that little piece of heaven?”
“Mine, but I got the stamp of approval from Susan,” she confessed. “It was my idea to seduce you, though.”
“Yay you. I’d say you did a bang-up job of getting me right where you wanted me,” he said with a wicked edge to his voice.
“That was the plan.”
“Well, baby, you worked the hell out of that plan, but now I’ve got one of my own.”
Curious, Dakota sat up on her elbows. “Really? What plan do you have, Mr. Montague?”
She screeched as he flipped her under him without warning. He kissed her neck, and then moved lower. His eyes never left hers. Soon, Dakota’s eyes were glazed over with desire, and she was writhing below him.
He lowered his right hand between them. A glint of purpose brightened his eyes. “Round two.”
* * *
She was the first to wake up. Blinking, Dakota had to remember where she was. At Logan’s condo, on the forty-second floor, with the moon streaming into his bedroom window, along with a million-dollar view of the lake and city, and her body feeling like…she did not even have a name for it.
Have mercy. The plan he put into action had her firing on all cylinders like a well-tuned race car.
If she had not been in love with Logan before she got into bed with him, she sure would have been now. She eased out from under the covers to go to the bathroom. Her body felt like Jell-O that was not quite set. She tried not to wake him, but that was impossible since she had to flush the toilet.
By the time she made it to the door, Logan’s body was filling up the entrance.
“Good morning.” He kissed her. “Just so you know, I don’t think we’ve ever had a sleepover as good as this one.”
She laughed, thinking back to all the platonic sleepovers they had growing up.
“Uh, no. Nothing has ever topped this one.”
He grabbed her hand and pulled her along behind him. They went to the kitchen so Logan could get a bottled water. He handed Dakota one. As she was drinking it, she padded over to the wall of windows.
Dakota reveled in the feel of being warm and secure in his arms. “It’s so beautiful up here. The stars are diamonds in the sky.”
He came up behind her. “They’re nothing compared to the beauty I’m holding in my arms right now.”
Dakota tilted her head back to kiss him. With a sigh of contentment, she leaned back against him. “I could stay like this forever.”
He kissed the tip of her nose. “Well I know I’d never tire of having you naked, or in my arms.”
“Are you hungry? I just remembered that I didn’t eat earlier. A captivating beauty came over and made me forget all about dinner.”
She shrugged. “A little. I guess we did work up an appetite.”
Logan grasped her hand and pulled her toward the kitchen. “I guess we did. I’ve got Italian from earlier we could warm up.”
Dinner became breakfast. While they were eating, they sat on the couch with their feet up, watching the city lights.
She observed him for a moment. “Do you do this often?”
“What?” He grinned. “Let hot women seduce me and then eat Italian food in the nude while looking out of a window onto Lake Michigan and Chicago?”
“Yes.”
“Nope.”
They had a good laugh over that. When they were done eating, Logan set their dishes in the sink. Dakota offered to clean them up, but Logan refused to let her.
“It’s three in the morning, Koty. The only thing I want you doing is going back to bed with me.”
She left the plates where they were. “I like the sound of that.”
“But first…”
There was a gleam in his eye that caused her to dissolve into nervous giggles.
“What, Montague?”
In seconds she was in his arms. He carried Dakota over to the window and set her on her feet in front of him.
“Logan, wha—”
“Shh,” he whispered.
He leaned down and kissed the back of her neck, then trailed kisses down her back. Fire engulfed Dakota instantly. She leaned closer to the window, its cool surface a shock to her warm breasts. The sensation was just as pleasurable as the man wreaking havoc on her body behind her. Her arms came up to hold on to the massive glass.
He turned her around and picked her up in his arms, anchoring her to the window, her legs secured around his middle. Dakota’s mind was awash with sensations coming in from all around her body, but when Logan slipped inside her, impaling her to the glass wall that got priority. It was sudden, unexpected and completely out of her comfort zone—and she loved every minute of it.
Later, he carried her back to bed. Logan hauled her up against him, wrapping his arms around her. After a few moments, he said, “What are you thinking about?”
