Later that night, Dakota and Logan were stretched out in a hammock on the back porch of their estate. Logan had purchased a sprawling property a short drive away from Ocho Rios in Old Fort Bay. Dakota named it Turtle Dove Landing for her parents. It was complete with an in-law suite, but their friends and family decided to leave the newlyweds in peace and stayed at Belle Cove.
Dakota snuggled closer to her husband. “Today was perfect. Thank you for such a beautiful celebration, Logan. It’s great having everyone here for a few days.”
“I agree, though I would love to have you all to myself this week so I can have my way with you.”
“Really? And just what would you be doing with me?”
He whispered into her ear. She blushed at Logan’s amorous propositions.
“I didn’t think I could still make you blush,” he teased. “I wonder what else I can do to make my wife turn delectable shades of red.”
Dakota ran a hand down his leg. “I guess we’ll have to try a few things and find out.”
He leaned over and kissed her. “I feel like the most blessed man in the world to have such an amazing wife. When we’re together, there’s nothing we can’t do. I love you, Koty Montague. With all my heart.”
“I love you, Logan, and I will forever.”
“It will hardly be long enough, but it’s a start,” he said solemnly. He stood up and helped her to her feet. “I have something for you,” he said, walking her into their bedroom.
“Logan, you’ve done so much already,” she protested.
“The sky’s the limit for you, sweetheart.” He handed her a large box. “Open this one first.”
Dakota ripped the paper and dove into her present. She peered into the large box and grinned.
“Rothschild sheets?”
Logan nodded.
“But…Amadeus already made some for the resorts.”
“True, but I had him create our own design. Especially for you and me.”
Dakota took the sheets completely out of the box and studied them. There was an image that integrated their initials into the design in the middle with a pattern that weaved itself out from there and back around to the beginning.
“Never ending,” she said tearfully.
“Just like us, Koty.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. “Logan, I love them. Thank you, sweetheart. These were so thoughtful.”
“I’m not done. Wait for it…” He handed her a smaller package.
She opened it, and then looked up at him. “What’s this?”
“The key to your new office space, my love. One Eighty Renovations—Jamaica.”
Her hand flew to her mouth. “Logan? What have you done?”
“It’s not far from here, has incredible views, plenty of parking for your clients and is conveniently close to here for afternoon rendezvous.” He grinned. “You’ve got room for staff, and your old renovation team is on standby. Happy anniversary, Dakota.”
She threw her arms around him. “Thank you so much,” she said around tears. “I can’t believe you did all this for me.”
Logan kissed her tenderly. “From the moment I met you, I knew there was nothing I wouldn’t do for you, Koty.”
She smiled in remembrance of their first meeting. “You were my hero then, and you still are. I’ve got an anniversary present for you, too, husband.”
His eyes roamed over the slinky nightgown she was wearing. “I don’t think I need a present. The way you’re looking in that nightgown, you are my present.”
She walked over to the dresser and pulled a box out of the drawer.
“I can’t believe I missed that. I’m in and out of the drawer all the time.” He laughed.
“I guess you’re not very observant.”
“That’s because when you walk into the room, you eclipse everything else.”
“You are such a flirt.”
“Yes, but you love it.”
“I love you,” she said simply. “Open it.”
Logan opened the box and pulled out a piece of paper with an arrow on it.
“What’s this? A treasure map?”
“Not quite.” They walked downstairs and outside. Logan turned it around, and it pointed toward the back of the house. Excited, Logan walked a little ahead of her. There was a small room attached to the house. His map pointed there. Dakota motioned for him to go in first. When he walked through the door, he whistled.
“It’s a man cave.”
He took in the pool table, a floor-to-ceiling projection screen, projector and ample seating. He also had a bar, refrigerator and a large selection of movies.
He hugged her. “This is amazing. Thank you, sweetheart. I love you—and my present.”
