Once we’re both in and buckled up in the back seat Darius tells the driver to get us to the hospital as quickly and safely as he can.
Two hours later our daughter Maya is born. Good thing Darius came and got me when he did, if he hadn’t I would have delivered her in the same spot we made her big sister.
A few weeks after Maya is born, I call my brother and ask him to come see me. He walks over immediately, since we bought the house next door to his. I let him know that I’d like to step down and he breathes out a sigh of relief. He wanted me there if that’s what I truly wanted, but he could tell that my heart lied somewhere else, with my babies, my family. I promised to keep creating apps and I still wanted to be an owner and he happily agreed with me.
It’s been five years since Darius came into my world and I wouldn’t change a thing. Life sure was crazy back then. Thank god Darius was there to save Franny and I. Without him, I don’t know what would have happened. One thing I know is that he’ll always be there, keeping our girls and I safe.
