His Siren - A Steele Riders Family Novella

Chapter 5EmilianoThe second she sneaks out of my room, my heart drops. Still, she’ll be safer with her brother and his biker friends. I’ve learned many things about the Steele Riders, but I need more.
I call Magnus for an update. “Our tech guy will be here in fifteen minutes to do his magic.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you down there.” Hanging up, I slip on my pants that were tossed on the floor. I look around for my shirt from last night, but I can’t find it. Then I see her sexy little dress that I ruined. “She took my shirt.” Fuck, she probably looks sexy as fuck in it, and I’m missing that visual. Maybe I’ll have to review the footage later when I’m alone.
I don’t have time for a shower. Besides, I have no intention of washing her scent off me yet. I need it to invade my soul.
When I enter the security office, there’s a man I don’t recognize working on a separate laptop. “Boss, this is Indy. He’s got the footage and is looking into the matter.” Oh, yes. He works tech for the company when needed, but I’d never met him. Gavin was the one who hired him.
“Thanks. Anything you can tell me?” I ask, showing my impatience.
“First, I wish I knew he was here.” He points to the other guy sitting next to Roxie at the dining table; the one she punched.
“Why? Who is that?”
“He’s called Cyber and is one of the best hackers and cybernetics experts out there. He could have helped you protect your girl. Roxie’s one of the princesses of the Steele Riders, and they’d all protect her with their lives.”
“Call him.” I don’t like having to rely on others especially when it comes to Roxie, but I’m not above using everything available to protect her.
Using his cell phone, he dials and then sets the phone on speaker. Cyber picks up on the second ring. “Hey, Indy. What’s going on?”
“I got a problem. Are you still in town?”
“No. Sorry, we’re already almost to the airport. What’s up?” I let out a low growl. He’s with my woman.
“Roxie’s in danger.”
“That fucking asshole. What did he do?” he snarls over the phone.
“What asshole?”
“That fucking sleazy hotel owner who couldn’t keep his hands off Roxie.”
“How did you learn that?” he questions, wondering if he slipped into our system.
“I’m not Cyber for no reason. I put a camera on her floor.”
Having enough, I grab the phone and take it off speaker. “Do you have a fucking death wish, fuckhead? I’ll kill you if you think I’ll let you have my woman,” I roar.
“Ah. Hello, Martín. I’m not afraid of you. You better be afraid of us if you hurt her.”
“She’s mine,” I remind him.
“Nice. Then why is she getting on a flight back home?” he bites out, testing the limits of my civility.
“Because she’s in danger, like Indy said. Before the sun came up, someone sent a message to my security team. Apparently, the mob knows that she’s mine and sent me a bunch of photos they couldn’t have gotten without sneaking into my system.”
“What do they want?”
“To hold her for ransom. The note read, ‘How much is she worth to you?’”
“Fuck. So how did you get her to split?”
“I didn’t. She left while she thought I was asleep. I just didn’t stop her from going back to her room. Until I can clean up this mess, it’s best that she’s safe with her brother.”
“She’s safer here. I will keep an eye on her, but I’m not stopping there. I want to be included on the information because we never let someone else solve our problems.”
“This is my problem.”
“The fact that someone is after Roxie is most definitely our problem.” His voice raises, getting angry with me, but he can go fuck himself because Roxie belongs to me.
“What the fuck did you say?” I hear a voice roar right next to the phone. “Who the fuck is this?” that voice barks onto the line.
“Who is this?” I challenge the fucker because I’m not in the mood for all these dicks to be around my woman.
“I’m the motherfucker who’s going to slice you to pieces if you touch a hair on my sister’s head.” I hear some mumbling in the background as he seems to have muffled the phone.
“Hello, asshole. Are you still there?” I don’t like to be kept waiting for anyone.
“So Cyber tells me you’re fucking in love with my sister. Is that true, or did you just use her to get your nut off and toss her aside?”
“First, don’t ever refer to your sister like that, and he’s right. I’m only letting her leave with you because she’s safer away from me until I bury the fuckers after my woman. Take care of her, or I’ll be the one stabbing you in the fucking heart.”
