I look up to see one man throw a twenty my way.

“Take that twenty and shove it right up your ass, asshole.”

“Katarina,” Blaze hisses next to me, quiet enough that no one else but me can hear him.

“Don’t hog her, Blaze. We like them fiery,” another says.

“She was just leaving.”

I step forward to reach for his arm that’s touching the gun, pulling it. “You’re coming with me, too,” I say, then look up to the guys on bikes who aren’t off them yet, but the way they’re looking at Blaze says they will be any second. “And I suggest you all go home.” I point to a camera near the door. “That goes directly to my security inside, and one wave of my hand they call the police. So, boys… tell me. Should I wave?” I hold my hand up but don’t wave it.

“We were just passing through. No need to call them,” one says, putting on his helmet and revving his engine next to us.

The other, who has done most of the talking, looks at me. “Wave your hand,” he dares me, trying to call my bluff.

My phone rings and I reach for it, smiling as I look at him and answer it, “Yes, no problem. They were just going. But if they don’t, go ahead and call them,” I say into the phone, having no idea who’s on the other end.

“Kat,” I freeze at that voice.

Fuck! Why does he keep calling?

I hang up quickly as they all start to leave. The last one smiles at me, sliding on his own helmet before he also pulls out, kicking up dirt as he peels away.

I walk around to my side of the car and slide in, looking back down at my phone.

Fuck! I have to stop answering him.

The door to my passenger side swings open, and in hops Blaze, eyes fiery as he turns to face me. “You are a fucking fool,” he says, his hand going up to my dash, his fists squeezed tightly.

“Get out of my car.”

“Do you have a death wish? I fucking knew they would be back tonight, and here you are acting as if it’s nothing.”

My phone rings again, and we both look down to it to see the private number flashing.

I silence it and look back up to him. “Look, I saved your ass. Now get out of my car so I can go home.”

The phone starts vibrating again, and he looks down as he speaks, “Who was it who called you before?”

“No one,” I say, just as he reaches for my phone and answers it. A quick, “Yes,” is all he gives the caller on the other end. “Who the fuck is this?” he asks.

I reach for it, but he pulls back, making me get up on my knees on my car seat to pull my phone away from him. I manage to get it, my body leaning toward his, and he lifts a hand and grips onto my waist then looks to me. “Some man wasn’t happy for me to answer.”

“Good! Now get out, so I can go home to my daughter.”

That seems to unfreeze him, and he drops my waist and shakes his head. “Send me your work schedule. Every night, someone will be here to walk you out, so that never happens again.”

“I have Fred,” I say as Blaze slides out of my car.

“Fred isn’t equipped to deal with this shit.”

“Deal with what? Your boy stupidity,” I say, shaking my head while starting my car.

He leans down so his head is in my passenger doorway. “Those boys…” he says the words in a venom laced tone, “… will eat you for breakfast.”

“And what will you do?” I ask him.

“I will eat you for dessert,” he says, then turns and walks away.

I watch him go, and as he gets to his bike, he turns, waiting for me to leave.

Pulling out, I take a deep breath as he follows me until I near my home, at which point he pulls away.

Once in my driveway, I lay my head on my steering wheel and wonder what the fuck I’m getting myself into here.

This can’t be good.

I have to do what’s best for my daughter. She is what matters. Nothing else.

Taking a deep breath, I get out of the car and pick her up, and then climb into my bed listening to Annabelle’s soft snores.Chapter TwelveBlazeDo I go to them and put a bullet through their compound and possibly start a war? We don’t want to wait until they make the first move. We need to kill every last one of them. Decisions, decisions.

“You’re meant to stay clear of that place,” Snow says as we walk out of church, where we hold our club meetings. Tonight’s our clubhouse party, and the girls come to keep the guys company. It basically turns into a whorehouse.
