“I see.”
“You never answered my question. Do you like it?”
“God yes!” Noah reached out with trembling fingers, running them over the keys which released a discordant sound.
Rowe winced. “Sorry about that. I’ve got a guy coming on Monday to tune it. I know it’s not fancy and new, but I thought it would work for now. Then maybe in a few years…we get a bigger place and maybe a better piano—”
Noah turned and kissed him, gripping him hard so that their bodies were pressed tightly together from knees to lips. Air couldn’t even slip between them and that’s how Rowe wanted it to stay. He would never be able to get enough of Noah.
“It’s fucking perfect, Rowe. I love it. Thank you so much,” Noah said between kisses. “How…how did you even know?”
A soft chuckle rumbled up Rowe’s chest. “You talked about playing your grandmother’s when you were a kid.”
“Yeah, but that was years ago, when we were Rangers.”
“And you couldn’t get one then because you were moving about. Never felt settled.”
“Yeah, but—”
“I want you to be settled here with me. I want this to be your home. Our home.” Rowe pulled away from Noah enough to look him in the eyes, his smile falling. “I know I’m asking you to stay when things in my life are about to go to hell in a big way with Jagger, but…just stay with me. Be with me.”
Noah lifted his hand to the side of Rowe’s face, his thumb rubbing across his lower lip, sending an exciting frisson down his spine. “Bring on Jagger and any other madness you can cook up. You’re mine now. I’m not going anywhere.”
