“Not tonight. I’ve got something planned.”
“What is going on with you? You’re very secretive all of a sudden.”
Max laughed, grabbing a can of soda. “So, because I’m not talking about every single minute detail of my relaxing weekend, I’m being secretive?”
“You haven’t got a secretive bone in your body. I say you’re hiding something.”
“I say, you don’t have a fucking clue what you’re talking about.”
“It’s nearly lunch. I’m heading over to the bakery. I need something good to eat, and Aria makes one hell of a sandwich. I’ve got a few orders for them. You want to come?” Dale held up a piece of paper.
“I could do with something to eat.” He wasn’t going to think of Aria’s pussy. Not in front of Dale.
“You’re acting strange. We’ve all noticed it. Even Trey said you weren’t talkative on Saturday.”
“I was enjoying some relaxing time away. Give me a break.”
“What were you enjoying? Why did you feel the need to have a break?”
“I’m a guy. I can enjoy certain things.”
“Of course you can,” Dale said, shaking his head. “If it was anything serious, you’d tell me?”
“Why wouldn’t I tell you?”
“I don’t know. You’re secretive as fuck.”
Walking off the building site, Max pushed his gloves into his hands. He loved working with his hands. He didn’t know how Trey put up working all hours inside a building. Max had trained to be a tattoo artist, but he only did little things he was good at drawing, like birds or words. Anything that required detail would always have to go to Trey. If Max wasn’t on the building site, he liked to work with his hands, building and creating stuff. The great outdoors was where he liked to be.
The walk to the bakery was only ten minutes away. The construction site he worked on was rebuilding some rundown apartments. Most of them had been unhabitable, so the state removed all the tenants, knocked them down, and now they were building them back up, only making them bigger and more luxurious.
Entering the bakery, he saw June behind the counter and rolled his eyes. That would mean Trey had their baby for the day. Both of them still continued to work, even though each of them had acquired staff for the very purpose of taking time off with the baby.
Molly let out a giggle the moment she caught sight of Dale, and using the busy shop as an excuse, Max snuck into the kitchen. June told him to leave Aria alone. Their friends assumed he was always trying to make it up to Aria for bullying her as a kid back in high school.
It had started out like that but soon changed. He liked watching her, even when she was baking. She stood at the kitchen counter. Buckets full of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, ham, chicken, and cheese were laid out before her. She was filling sandwiches to the brim before wrapping them up.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
To answer, he walked around the counter, wrapping his arms around her, and pressing his lips against her neck. “I wanted to come and see you.”
“They could come in any minute.”
“They are distracted, and I’ve got my eye on the door. No one will come in that we don’t want to. How are you today?” he asked.
“I’m fine.”
He put his hand on her stomach, teasing down toward her pussy. “You’re sure?”
“Max.”
“I can stop if you’re honest with me.”
“I wish we were back in our room.”
He groaned as well. “So do I. I wish it was just the two of us together. I can’t stop thinking about how perfect your pussy was wrapped around me.”
“Max, please, I’ve got to work.”
“Have you thought about me at all?” He nibbled on her neck and covered her mouth with his hand as he did so she didn’t let out a moan. Once he was done, he let her go.
“Yes, I’ve thought about you.”
“And what do you want to do to me?” he asked.
“I wish you were inside me. Fucking me.”
He moved his hand beneath the apron he was wearing. The jeans she wore were way too big for her, and that was his bonus. Shoving his hand down her pants, he found her wet heat.
“You weren’t lying. I can feel how much you want me.” He teased her clit.
She’d put down the sandwich she was working on.
He kept an eye on the door.
“I’ve made a doctor appointment for Wednesday.”
“So have I.”
“Good. Once I get the all clear, your pussy is sliding on my dick and I’m going to fill you up. I may make you watch so you can see my cum inside you.”
She whimpered, and he quickly covered her mouth. He couldn’t stay even though he wanted to.
Pulling his fingers from her pussy, he stepped back just as June walked into the room. Aria had already grabbed the sandwich, and she looked busy.
“We’re friends, Max. It doesn’t mean you can keep coming back here.”
“My mistake.” He licked his finger and winked at Aria. “Be seeing you soon.”
He intended to walk her home tonight. Nothing new for their friends. He walked out to the main counter where Dale was ordering. Standing beside his friend, he waited to order, and Molly took care of it.
“Okay, now you look happy—which is new when you go and see Aria.”
“No, it’s not.”
“Yeah, it is. Believe me. I’ve been watching you for some time, and you never look happy after seeing Aria. You always look pissed off with yourself. What gives?”
“Nothing. We’re just finding a way to be friends seeing as our friends are all friends together.”
“Uh-huh, be careful with whatever you’ve got going on, Max. I don’t want you or Aria to get hurt.”
He had no intention of getting hurt or hurting anyone else.
****
“You look different,” June said.
Aria tucked her hair behind her ears before resting the strap of her bag between her breasts. “I do?”
“Yeah. I don’t know what it is, but you just seem a little different as well. You looked flustered with Max. Is he behaving himself?”
“Of course.”
“If he’s bothering you, I could get Trey to talk to him.”
She waved her hand in the air. “It’s fine. I think Max and I just need to get used to being around each other, you know. It’s nothing personal or anything, but we share friends and if we don’t get used to each other, then it could make for a very awkward situation.” She really hoped it didn’t sound like she was rambling. “I’m going to head on home.”
“Yes, yes, of course. Hey, you never said how the dating was going?”
“Dating?”
“You know, the online dating.”
“It’s not going. It was a mistake to join. You know how it is.”
“I do?”
“I don’t want to put myself out there to be stood up.”
“You were stood up once.”
“And it was enough.” Aria forced a smile to her lips. “I’m okay. Really.” The only crazy thing she had really done was sleep with Max. And agreed to never date anyone else, and to go on the pill so they could sleep together without a condom. Her life was perfectly fine. There was nothing wrong with her decisions.
It was all good.
“How was your mini-vacation?” June asked.
Her boss and friend really wanted her to stay and chat. “It was good. I didn’t do a lot.” She wasn’t about to tell her boss she fucked the entire weekend. “I, you know, slept and just relaxed.” She pretended to yawn. “I really need to get going. I’m tired and hungry.”
June gave her a strange look but didn’t argue.
Leaving the bakery, Aria didn’t have to wait long before Max was by her side.
“I can’t believe you did that today.”
“I was having fun, and I know you were as well. Don’t judge.”
