"We're good together," he agreed. "All of us. Someday I'll take you to the Carpathian Mountains to meet more of our kind, but we're building something good here. There will always be vampires in our lives, but with the family we're building, we'll have protection as well."
"I love our life," she reiterated. She would have had vampires in her life without him, and she wouldn't have fared as well. Now she had the children. She was a mother to four girls and a boy. She had women around her she cared about and hunters sworn to protect them all. Dangerous, scary men, but powerful; she found she cared about them as well. All in all, she would take her strange life over any other.
"I love you," she said again, pouring how deeply she felt into the admission.
