“Honey, I love you.” Those were words she’d never thought she’d hear him say.
“Will you say them again?”
He smiled. “Was I that bad about sharing my feelings?”
She nodded.
“I love you. I love you. I love you.”
“Sounds just right. If I marry you, can I have your leather chair?”
He pretended to think hard about it. “How about we continue to share it? I’ll have it shipped here.”
“Deal,” she said, sealing the agreement with a kiss.
Minutes and one incredibly delightful kiss later he asked, “So that I’m clear, you have agreed to marry me?”
“Yes. Just try to get away.” She pulled him to her again.

> Court tucked Maggie closer as they lay on the truck bed, watching the sun slip below the horizon. The soft drumming of rain on the tarp made the moment more intimate.
“Are you sure that you want to give up Boston for this?” Maggie asked with a sigh.
“I thought I made that clear a few minutes ago.”
She kissed his neck, then put her chin on his chest and looked up at him. “You might have to do a little more convincing.”
He cupped her bare behind and pulled her toward him. “I think I can handle that,” he said, before kissing her deeply and passionately, more than willing to do some convincing. Not breaking contact, Court maneuvered her on top of him, before she broke the kiss.
“I need to ask you something.”
“Now?” He moved his hips in question.
“I don’t think it should wait.”
He stopped fondling her breast and looked at her. The serious tone of her voice had him question whether or not he wanted to hear what she had to say.
“Um, how do you feel about adding a few more children to our family?”
“Do you have any in mind?”
“I might.”
“Honey, whatever you want, I want. A houseful, if that will make you happy.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck, and shimmied farther up him. “I love you.”
“I think maybe you should show it.” His hand drifted across her hip.
“I believe I should.” Maggie leaned down and said against his mouth, “You’ll be a wonderful father,” before she showed him with her lips what he meant to her.
Court had found the contentment and acceptance in this stark land he’d so longed for. It had hidden the jewel that made his life complete. Maggie’s dream had been to have a family and together they would make that dream come true, surrounded by a lifetime of love.
