Tacker snorts, clapping me on the shoulder. “You know… this has been quite the summer of weddings.”
“Four so far,” I reply with a nod, watching Clarke as she heads through the kitchen into the living room as the women all move around the Cup.
“You could make it five,” he says with a sly smile. “An elopement would be cool.”
While the thought of marriage settles on me like a warm blanket, I do know it’s way too soon for that. Clarke’s also the type who deserves all the romance of an over-the-top proposal and a huge wedding if she so desires. I’m not going to take that from her.
What I am going to do, though, is make sure she knows how much I love and cherish her. Every single day.
Her gaze moves through the crowd, and we lock eyes. Everyone else disappears for just a second as a silent acknowledgment passes between us that tonight is the beginning of forever.
She smiles, loops her arms around her new female Vengeance family, then strikes a goofy pose for the camera.
Fuck, but I love her.
