He laughs and leaves my office.
I sit at my desk, smiling to myself.
This isn’t the future I pictured. I always thought I’d be at the SEC doing financial analysis for big white-collar crimes. Instead, I’m helping to run a successful and growing hedge fund.
It’s amazing how things happen. It’s never a straight line, always a winding, stop-and-start jagged path through the wilderness. And now I’ve found my home, and I couldn’t be happier.
I have my Jacob, my love, my partner, my life. I’ve never been this happy or satisfied before. Sometimes, I’m afraid it might all go away.
