“Yes,” I whisper, and he slides the ring on my finger.
Applause and cheers and shouts ring through the warehouse. I realize the whole staff is watching. Streamers fall from the air and confetti rains from the ceiling. I laugh, shocked, as he stands, grinning. He kisses me hard and holds me tight against him as confetti rains down on him.
“I love you,” I say. “God, I love you.”
“I know.”
My life, my love. We’re grown so much together in this place, and now we’ll keep growing, for the rest of our lives.
It’s all I could ask for, it’s more than I ever imagined, it’s perfect.
