It’s hard to believe that was only three months ago. It’s taken us lots of practicing, but after missing my period last week, I knew it was time to take a test.
“Each day only gets better and better. Even with this mess of a house and us working in two different states at the most random of times. You and me together, plus our new bundle of joy. It’s going to be perfect. That being said, we need to chill out on all the traveling we’ll be doing, or at least drive instead of fly.”
I have to laugh. Who would even think of these things? “Have you been reading up on this?”
“The minute you told me we were going to try, I downloaded some books on that Kindle app you put on my iPad.” I really can’t hold it in any longer. My eyes fill with tears. The lengths this man goes for us.
“Could you be any more perfect?” His hands cup my cheeks, the tips of his thumbs wiping away the tears as they leave my eyes.
“Not perfect, Peyton. I was put on this world for you, just like you were made for me. And I’ll do anything to make sure we’re happy every day I walk this earth.”
“See, that right there, that’s what I mean. You know what to say and just when to say it.” Chance dips his head, the nudge of his nose letting me know he wants my lips. I reach up on the tip of my toes, our mouths colliding, him dominating me the way I love, knowing exactly when I need it. I’m assuming he’ll cart me off inside after our kiss. Chance doesn’t though. Instead, he pulls away and gives me the words he always does. We must tell each other those three little words fifteen times a day, and I never get tired of hearing them.
“I love you, Peyton Adams, you and our child.” His hand moves to my lower abdomen as he professes his love to us.
“And I love you, Chance Adams. Through everything, you’re there no matter what. I couldn’t imagine a life without you.”
“It’s a good thing you’ll never have to. Now, how about we go on inside? It smells like we might be getting some rain here shortly, and with our house, who knows what that will bring.” They always joke about how mechanics have a broken-down car. Well, it must be the same for carpenters. We’ve owned this house for months, and a majority of the place is a construction zone, or worse.
“Don’t joke about that. Last time you did, we had to rewire the whole house. Now you probably jinxed the roof.” I roll my eyes at him.
“Now you’ve done it, woman. I was just up there last month and everything looked good. If anyone jinxed the house, it would be you.” This time, Chance does pick me up. My legs wrap around his middle, my arms going around his shoulders, fingers delving into the locks at the nape of his neck. Chance’s strides are faster than normal, and if I know anything about my man, I know this, he’s ready to take me to bed. I up the ante, grinding my hips on his thickening cock as my lips move to his neck, licking and sucking.
“Christ, woman, give a man some warning.” He stumbles into the house, barely making it to the couch before I move my hands to my shirt, whipping it over my body, knowing Chance would never let me go even with me squirming around.
“Don’t make me wait. I need you,” I moan, going back to the column of his throat.
“Never.” My back meets the couch. His lips meets mine in a quick kiss before he worships me with his mouth and then his cock. This has to be one of my favorite days yet, and I get to share it with Chance, now and forever.

Chance
Six Years Later
“Come on, let’s go down to the beach and let Momma sleep,” I tell Paige. She’s my early riser, just shy of five years old. We for sure thought we’d have three children right now, but that wasn’t in the cards at the time. It took us four years for Peyton to get pregnant with the little one she is with now. Two girls, and a boy on the way. Life couldn’t be much sweeter.
“Okay, Daddy. Can we make smoothies first?” My girl is snuggled up in my arms, her dark hair tousled much like Peyton’s, but she’s got my eyes.
“Of course, princess. What fruit would you like today?” This is our Sunday ritual. We don’t do anything until later on in the afternoon. These mornings are for me and Paige, a smoothie, then to go build a few sandcastles, walk the beach looking for seashells while Peyton and Bentley sleep in a few hours.
