Kirsten nodded and held out her arms. Molly gently laid the precious bundle in my Angel’s arms. I stared at the perfect little face in awe.
“Her name is Marie.”
“She looks like you.”
Kirsten shook her head.
“I think she looks like her daddy.”
I grinned and took my turn holding the baby. We sat there while Janet and Molly helped clean up.
“Okay if I show everyone?”
She nodded and I walked out to the living room. Jacey and Sally were back. Everyone was waiting. They didn’t rush me all at once. They came up one at a time and stared at the little bundle of joy in my arms.
I laughed when Jack solemnly took the baby’s hand and shook it, introducing himself as ‘Uncle Jack.’ Our baby girl was going to be very well-loved, that was for sure.
Jacey came up and stood beside me, smiling at her little sister.
I looked back over my shoulder at my wife, who was slowly sitting up and hanging her legs off the edge of the kitchen island. My eyes were shining as I stared at her, then back at our baby and our little girl by my side.
“Now I have three angels.”
