Alpha Possessed (The Dixon Brothers 1)

“He’s just jealous,” Cameron says as he squeezes his hands in and out of fists. “He’s been desperate to find his mate for years and now that I have mine… I guess he can’t handle it.”
“So, we really are mates?” I ask with a gulp.
He gently takes my hand. “Of course. Haven’t I proven that by now?”
“I guess…”
“You guess? Guessing is not good enough. Let’s try this.”
He takes my jaw with his big hand and kisses me hard on the mouth. It obliterates me. It destroys me. It changes me forever.
I feel like I’m melting as he claims my mouth with his hot beautiful tongue. It’s glorious and feels so good.
I’ve never been kissed before and I don’t want it to end. I moan into his mouth as he kisses me deeper, sending a steady force of warmth circulating from my core to my pussy to the tips of my fingers and toes.
My chin is tilted up and my eyes are still closed for a few seconds after he pulls away.
“You believe me now?” he asks with a grin on his sexy face.
“Yeah,” I say as I swallow his delicious taste down. “That does it.”
“You’re staying with me.” He says it like a command and not an offer. I wonder how far this man will go to protect me. What if I say no? Will he throw me over his shoulder and carry me back to his place? Will he tie me to his bed? And why are all of these scenarios extremely intriguing?
The haze in my head quickly dissipates when I see his bloody arm. It’s a mess with his skin torn up with jagged teeth marks. Thick red blood slips out and slides down to his hand where it drips from his fingertips onto the cement like a broken faucet.
“Your arm,” I say, feeling dread in my gut.
He looks at it like it’s the first time he’s noticed anything is wrong.
“I’m fine. Really.”
“No, you’re not! We need to get you to a hospital.”
“My body is a hospital,” he says with a grin. “I’m a shifter, remember? I can heal myself.”
“Let me cover it at least.” I grab my sleeve and try to tear it off, but it does nothing but make me look ridiculous.
He chuckles as he grabs the bottom of his t-shirt. “Don’t ruin your shirt. It looks incredible on you.”
My eyes widen and my heart stops when he peels off his shirt with one quick movement. He’s all hard sculpted muscle with a massive chest and deeply carved abs. I don’t have to wonder about his tattoos anymore. I can see every inch of them in their glory. They rise up his muscular arms and over the round base of his shoulders. His chest and stomach are untouched, just hot skin with a light smattering of hair.
I can’t stop staring at him. I don’t even watch as he wraps his shirt around his sliced up forearm, trying to stop the bleeding.
“Does that make you feel better?” he asks after he ties the shirt in place.
“I feel better, yes,” I say as I glance at his hard abs one more time.
“Good. Now, you’re coming back to my place whether you like it or not. I’m not going to have my mate on her own when there are killer mercenaries after her.”
Suddenly, he’s making a lot of sense. My eyes are locked on his chest as my head nods up and down.
“You’re staying with me, in my bed, where I can keep my eyes on you. You’re not leaving my sight. Now, what do you have to say to that?”
I gulp as I tear my gaze off his torso and look into his dark possessive eyes. “Um, your car or mine?”
Chapter Six
Mary
Cameron is still shirtless as we drive back to his place and I’m still sneaking peeks at him every chance I get.
It’s a big pickup truck, but he still takes up all of his side. The man is huge. He looked big in the open space of the bar and the parking lot, but in a confined space like this, it’s almost comical. I’d laugh if I wasn’t so turned on.
I can feel my heart pounding throughout my body and whenever I squeeze my thighs together, I feel wetness.
He’s got my body reacting to him in a way that no one else has. I’m tingly all over and my pussy is throbbing with a deep heat. I want him to touch it. I want him to pull over and kiss me again.
“Maybe I should go back to my room at the inn,” I say as we drive down the secluded mountain road. It’s dark and there’s no one around for miles. These roads are quiet during the day, but at one in the morning, the only ones in our vicinity are raccoons, foxes, and deer. It’s just me and him.
