“If I wait until tomorrow, then he’ll just be here longer. I’m actually ready for...”
“What, princess?”
“I’m ready for him to leave.”
“Why?”
“He makes me think of work, while...”
“I make you think of coming.” He consumed my lips, intensely kissing and deepening each tongue stroke. His kiss was not only sensual and skilled but intense, full of hunger and that yearning that I remembered from the first time he’d kissed me.
“Simone. Simone.” His fingers traced the curve of my cheek, slipped over my throat, and glided down to the fullness of one breast. I moaned as his fingers tenderly squeezed my nipple and then his lips came next, delivering shivers through my body.
Fuck Ru. I want to stay here.
As if he heard me, he lifted his head. “You’re right. You should meet with him today.”
I almost cried out in protest.
Gio’s voice was rough with passion. “Go see Mr. Ru and you can kindly tell him two things for me.”
I slowly blinked away the fog of sex that he’d spun around my head. “What do you want me to say?”
“First, he’s not to call you Simmy anymore. I don’t like it.”
I raised my eyebrows. “And two, Mr. Bossy Man?”
“Two, he’s getting in the way.”
I blinked. “He’s not in the way. Relax.”
“Hmmm. Should I know my position?”
“Your position?”
“Midnight is always talking about how his women never play their position. He has them all under football titles—quarterback, defensive line, etc.”
I shook my head. “He’s worse than Ru.”
“Never mind them.” He sat up and flicked on the bedside lamp. His silky strands were a mess like mine, sex tussled and so fucking hot. His lids were heavy over those enchanting blues. And his full lips…those kissable, gorgeous lips caused my sex to moisten.
He broke me out of my drooling. “Am I stepping out of my position, telling you what to do with your manager?”
“Your position?” I giggled. “I don’t know about Midnight’s theory of love, but I do want you to understand that I can take care of myself. I don’t need help with Ru.”
He nodded. “So, you want me to leave Ru alone?”
“If you plan on bothering him, then yes.”
“And if he bothers you?”
“I can handle it.” I rose from the bed and wrapped one of the smaller furs around my body.
“No.” Gio grabbed the blanket and gently tugged it away. Slowly, it slipped along and then away from my body. Cool air hit my skin. My nipples stiffened in front of him. “You’re already leaving me in this cold bed. You can’t take my blankets too.”
The blanket fell back to the bed, leaving me completely nude in front of him.
“Damn.” His gaze blazed with lust.
My phone buzzed again.
Sighing, I backed away.
“You better run,” Gio whispered.
I giggled and hurried to the bathroom to clean up.
It took barely twenty minutes to get dressed. I threw on my favorite jeans, a white shirt, and a leather jacket. Silently, I tiptoed by a sleeping and very gorgeous Gio.
This can’t be my life.
My body throbbed with the memory of last night. Calming my hormones, I headed to Ru’s room.
ME: I’m on the west wing.
RU: Come to the front. I have a car for us today. The roads are clear.
ME: Ok. Omw.
When I got to the front, Ru stood next to a beautiful red car. Designer head to toe, he wore all black. Sunglasses covered his eyes. “Love the car?”
“Yeah.” I nodded.
“The Bugatti Veyron.” He opened the passenger side for me. “It’s my dream machine. The fastest and most expensive car in the world.”
I got in. “If it’s your dream machine, why haven’t you bought one for yourself?”
“At $1.3 million, I can’t really justify it in New York. I barely drive as it is.” He shut the door, walked over to the other side, and got in.
I looked out the window and gazed at Gio’s massive house as we rode away. So much had changed. Just last week, I’d been in my cramped apartment, and now...
I’d slept with G-fucking-O. Damn. Why is he so perfect?
Ru disrupted my thoughts. “Can you believe that?”
“What?”
“I said it cost $40,000 a day to rent it.”
“Damn, Ru. That’s a bit much.”
“Not really because, today, we’re celebrating.”
“We are...” I lost my words as we drove past the damaged tree where I must’ve crashed nights ago. It was now cut in half, but black marks marred the icy trunk. Thick tracks led right to it.
Damn. I hit it hard. I can’t believe he found me.
In that moment, I realized I didn’t have my seatbelt and hurried to put it on.
“What do you think?” Ru asked.
I turned to him. “About what?”
“What the fuck, Simmy? Your mind is not with me.”
For some reason, now when he said that nickname, it annoyed me. “Could you go back to calling me Simone?”
He turned back to the road as we left Gio’s property. “Why?”
